Wright begs for star to stay, £43m star announces ‘he is flattered’ with Arsenal talk ahead of possible move, Arteta to sign three, Gunners tipped to sign £60m star
Guys here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news, gossip and transfer news from icfootballnews over the past 24 hours.
Unsuprisingly, Gunners legend Ian Wright is begging captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stay beyond the summer transfer window.
Publicly, Aubameyang has maintained he is content with life at Arsenal but with talks over a contract extension having stalled Barcelona are likely to test the waters again come the summer, but there is a feeling that this could be his last season at the Emirates.
The feeling in the media is that Aubameyang is not happy with the direction of the club, as he had hoped the club would be challenging for the Premier League title and playing Champions League football on a yearly basis, which has not happened.
And with reports suggesting that the likes of Barcelona or Inter Milan are ready to pay in excess of £70 million to try and secure a deal for Aubameyang, the Gunners have already, reportedly, been eyeing up possible replacements for the Gabon ace, with a number of top forwards linked with the club.
And amid all the speculation (AND THERES ALOT OF IT), Wright has taken to social media and begged the hitman to ignore all the big clubs that are chasing him and sign a new deal at the Emirates, Wrighty said on Instagram: “We love you!!! This club loves you. Our fans love you.
“If you weren’t here with all due respect to the rest of our team we’d be in deep trouble.
“For you to score the amount of goals you are scoring whilst doing all that defending is just incredible!!!
“(Please stay and sign the ting).”
Dayot Upamecano says he will not decide on his future until the end of the season, with reports Arsenal are lining up a mega move.
Now Look, There has been so much speculation and rumours in the media over the past few weeks about whom Mikel Arteta will sign in the summer, to sort his dodgy back-line out, to improve that midfield area, and a possible replacement to come in and possibly replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is destined to leave the club.
But there has also ben constant rumours that Arsenal are interested, maybe even desperate, to sign up the impressive Upamecano, who is easily regarded as one of the finest young centre-backs in the game having helped RB become a very exciting, and entertaining to watch.
It is believed that Arsenal will make a summer move, it is believed that Arsenal will offer £52 million, and it is also believed that RB will say HELL no, ‘we want more’ as they rate the talent very highly, but still, Arsenal will make a move anyways.
But amid all the sill transfer rumours, the French defender was quoted by Football.London as saying:that he is flattered to be linked with the likes of Arsenal, but is not thinking about a move just yet, he was quoted: “I feel very comfortable in Leipzig. I love my teammates, the staff and my club.
“At the moment I am still under contract until 2021. It is my duty to continue to train well and play my games.
“Even if I know that there are clubs that want me, I stay on the ground with both feet, that’s for sure.
“We will discuss my future with my advisors and my family at the end of the season.
“Naturally [I am honoured to be linked to clubs like Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Arsenal].
“But as I said, I’m in Leipzig and I want to achieve my goals with the club.
“I don’t feel like talking about anything else right now. I want to end the season with Leipzig in the best possible way and nothing else.”
Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino believes Mikel Arteta will sign up to three players in the summer for the Arsenal.
Now, Arteta is a man that has come to the Emirates with a big reputation after working with Pep Guardiola over at Manchester City, and despite some very dodgy results and poor performances, there is a sense of optimism around the club that he is the man to get Arsenal challenging once again.
But he needs help, he needs the board to stop being so greedy and pull their fingers out their arses to bring in some world class players, not just youngsters, not average stars that have done nothing in the game, actually WORLD CLASS players that will actually make a difference to the side.
And amid a whole bunch of players linked, Cascarino believes that Arteta will indeed sign up to three players in the summer, speaking to talksport, he said: “If you don’t make the Champions League you have to look hard, really dissect, your recruitment and how you’ve gone about it, what you’ve spent, type of players you’ve brought in with the type of mentality, and the wage bill has to be looked at as well.
“So I think there are areas that they have to adjust to because there are many clubs in Europe who have been in this situation, who are big clubs that are expected to challenge for Champions League spots.
“Arsenal I think under Arteta are going to have a new dynamic, I think there won’t be massive signings, I think they will have a certain budget they’ll stay to and he’ll find two or three really good players that will do the job that’s required from him, how he wants to play.
“I think it’s a big challenge.”
Robert Pires has claimed that the likes of Arsenal will be eyeing up a summer deal for Aston Villa ace Jack Grealish.
Mikel Arteta is a boss that needs to spend some serious money over the next few weeks in order to improve a side that may in fact struggle to get a top six spot this season, nevermind a Champions League place for next season.
That has, of course, led to all sorts of speculation about whom could come into the club, who could leave the club, and what superstar signing that Arteta will seek to improve his very young side.
However, there has also been some shock rumours in the media that Villa midfielder Grealish could also be on the radar of Arteta after impressing during his first season back in the Premier League.
His performances over the past few months has also caught the attentions of the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool, But Pires has claimed that the likes of Arsenal will be seeking to try and sign the talented midfielder, Pires told The Sunday Mirror: ‘Jack is a great footballer with a good technique – and I love watching him play because he reminds me of Dennis Bergkamp.
‘He has great vision, he isn’t a selfish player because he always wants to do what is best for the team, and I think he has a great future. ‘I don’t want to put too much pressure on Jack, because he is still a young player learning the game, and Dennis was an incredible talent and a champion.
‘But Grealish is a very complete player and I think the key for him is to keep playing like he enjoys his football.’
‘Manchester City need to find a replacement for David Silva next season – and I think Grealish is someone who Pep will look at,’ the Frenchman added.
‘He is English, he has good experience of the Premier League, and he has a great technique but I think Grealish is a player who would interest a lot of top clubs, like United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
‘This has been a tough season for Villa, but I think Grealish will take a lot from it. He has learned how to fight every weekend and we have all seen how much it means to him to play for the club.
‘Playing against Man City at Wembley is a great stage for Jack. But not just him. This is a chance for Villa to win a big trophy and that would have a big effect on the rest of their season.’
