Chelsea news: Fans to see announcement get made as midfielder to make January move

CHELSEAcould be braced for several exits in the January transfer window as the club seek to trim down a squad that is still quite bloated in number after several big-spending transfer windows over recent years.

Since that board arrived at Chelsea the club have spent some crazy money on players that they believe will be at the for the next 5-7 years, and now have one of the biggest squads in the Premier League.

But they also have a number of players that are not really needed at the club anymore, and One player who may well be departing Stamford Bridge next month is Harvey Vale, the versatile midfielder who has been with the club since Under-13 level and was previously academy player of the year.

The 21-year-old is out of contract at Chelsea in the summer and almost joined Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia in the summer, only for that deal to fall through at the 11th hour.

Vale has made only one senior Blues appearance since then, coming on as a half-time substitute in the 5-1 home victory over Shamrock Rovers in the Conference League earlier this month.

According to Fabrizio Romano, he could leave Chelsea in January as he enters the last six months of his current deal, with Sunderland joining Belgian giants Anderlecht and Dutch side Heerenveen in the race for his signature.

Look, Vale wanted to leave in the summer and that fell through, so it makes sense that he leaves the club when the January transfer window opens up, even on a loan basis.

At 21-years of age he needs to be playing, and although many CHELSEA fans may be sad to see the player leave, he needs to join a club that will give him the game time he needs.
