Sevilla will sell £65m man to Liverpool, Klopp tipped to sign Soyuncu, massive Van Dijk Premier League claim made

Van Dijk the best, Soyuncu tipped to make Liverpool move, Sevilla will sell Carlos in Liverpool news roundup…

Sevilla are open to selling Diego Carlos to Liverpool this summer with Jurgen Klopp keen to sign him according to a report.

Liverpool may have one of the best defences in the game right now, but there is a feeling that Jurgen Klopp is not completely happy with his back-line and will look to improve that area of the pitch when the summer transfer window opens up, especially as Dejan Lovren looks set to leave.

Lovren may be a big part of the Liverpool side, but there is a feeling in the media that he is not trusted by Klopp and the German coach will look to sell on and bring in an adequate replacement that can do a much better job, someone like Carlos.

Now HITC cite Marca as saying that Sevilla would apparently not stand in his way, if the Reds did submit a sizeable offer in the summer.

The 27-year-old Brazilian has been a key player for Sevilla, but the Spanish club may be looking to cash-in, as they aim to raise funds to balance the books and improve on a few key areas of the pitch themselves.

Despite reports in the media suggesting that he has already been contacted by Liverpool about a possible summer move, the Brazilian recently insisted he’s not received any information from his agent regarding a potential switch to Merseyside.

Asked whether he’s received a ‘call’ from the Reds, Diego told Estadio Deportivo: ‘So far, my agent has not spoken to me about those situations.

‘I am not interested to know about other teams. ‘I always tell him that, if he is going to tell me something, that it be something firm, that he does not come to me with stories, because I must have my head focused on Sevilla.

‘I don’t want those things to cause me a distraction.’

Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany has hailed Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk as the best-ever defender in the Premier League.

Since Van Dijk’s arrival at Anfield in January 2018, Jurgen Klopp’s side have been crowned European champions for the sixth time and are within just two wins of claiming their first Premier League title in over 30 years.

He has helped the Liverpool become one of the most impressive defence sides in the Premier League and has added those extra points Liverpool need to become one of the best sides in the game once again.

Now Kompany, who is also regarded very highly in the Premier League, has come out and claimed that Van Dijk is the best defender to ever grace the English game, The Express quote fellow centre-back Kompany as telling BBC Sport: “The reason why I said it is because Liverpool were a great team before Virgil van Dijk and yet they were always vulnerable.

“I never felt that supremacy that they showed this year. It’s very difficult to have a player that has such a big impact at a big club.

“He brought back old-school defending with a modern twist and I respect that.

Caglar Soyuncu has been backed to make a summer transfer from Leicester City to Liverpool by the man who made the same switch back in 2000.

Liverpool are still hoping that they will be able to finish the Premier League season and become Champions of England once again, but there has been alot of reports over the past few days that they are seeking to sign up Arsenal target Soyuncu.

Arsenal have been eyeing up a deal for Soyuncu for the last few seasons, and now that they have Mikel Arteta in charge, there was a feeling that Arsenal could make a £40 million offer in the summer.

But with Liverpool being linked with the Turkish centre-back, Emile Heskey told GentingBet that he would fit in very well at Anfield if he decided to make the summer move.

He said: “Soyuncu would fit in well at any club. He’s taken the role of centre back at Leicester, which was a very important role, following the footsteps of Wes Morgan and Johnny Evans, and no one knew what to expect of him.

“But he’s taken it by the scruff of the neck and he’s really improved and given something extra as well as he’s good on the ball.

“I don’t see him going anywhere, even Liverpool, as Leicester don’t need to sell unless they want to and they don’t have a ready-made player to fall into his spot.

“However, if Leicester did want to sell, Soyuncu could go to any of the top clubs.”

Van Dijk needs a partner at the back next season as he will not be able to do everything himself, especially as the other top teams will be looking to improve in order to catch the Reds.

Soyuncu has proven that he is more than capable of handling himself in the Premier League, and for the right money, yes he would be a very good signing.

However, Leicester will not want to let him leave and will surely do all they can to make sure that he stays at the club.
