Midfielder OFFICIALLY suggests he wants West Ham moves – reveals transfer talks
Hans Vanaken has admitted that talks with West Ham will continue and hinted that he wants to make the move to the London Stadium
West Ham have been very active in the transfer market this summer window and have signed some players that have played at the highest level of the game – and has been successful at it
But the club will look to keep signing players over the next few weeks and that has led to speculation in the media that the Hammers are keen on signing Vanaken this transfer window
The Belgium international was speaking to reporters after Club Brugge played this weekend and admitted that talks will continue about a move to England – as this may be his last chance to play in the Premier League – as quoted by RTBF:
“This may be my last chance to play abroad one day, and I want to take it. A lot has already been written about it.
“It’s no longer a surprise. I’ve thought about it. The club in question, West Ham, is interested, and so am I.
“Discussions with Club Brugge will begin on Monday. We’ll see where that takes us!”
It comes after his boss also admitted that the midfielder wants a move to the club – Carl Hoefkens said “I understand he wants to go to West Ham”.
“If Hans leaves, I have to find solutions, but he is still here, is training well, is in the squad and will play against Kortrijk,” Carl Hoefkens said in his press conference, as quoted by Het Nieuwsblad.
“I absolutely understand that he wants to take the next step (with West Ham). But as a coach I’d love to keep him.
“Of course I understand that Hans is considering the Premier League. That’s very normal.
“As a coach, of course I want him to stay, but it makes sense for a player to consider such an offer. I said I would like to continue working with him.
“Whether he takes that into account in his choice: that is up to him. Furthermore, that is something between the board and himself.
“Hans is an incredible player who has already done a lot for this club. He also has a big influence on our way of playing football. As long as he’s here, I’ll work with him. He will also be in the selection on Sunday and will play.”
