Boss confirms midfielder heading to Chelsea, £35m man sends transfer message to Chelsea, Blues close in on Varane, and target wants £10m-a-year contract

Hakimi issues transfer message, Barkley heading back to Chelsea, Chelsea close in on Varane, Aguero wants big time contract in Chelsea news roundup…

Reports have come out and claimed that Sergio Aguero has told the likes of Chelsea that he wants a £10 million-a-season contract

Thomas Tuchel may be a boss that has one of the very best attacks in the Premier League, and can boast one of the very best squads too, but there has been alot said about the fact that he doesnt have a striker that is able to score 30-goals a season.

Timo Werner has scored just once in his last 22 Premier League games, while Kai Havertz hasn’t scored since September. Although Hakim Ziyech and Mason Mount have chipped in with several strikes in recent weeks, Tuchel has admitted that his forwards are falling short.

That has led to speculation in the media that a move for Aguero, who is out of contract at City in the summer and leaving the Champions-elect, opening the door to a free move happening.

And According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Aguero wants to receive a yearly wage of around €12m (£10m) in the summer, with a whole host of clubs reportedly very much interested in trying to sign the player up.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was recently asked about the prospect of Aguero making the move to Stamford Bridge but he refused to be drawn on the subject.

“You can ask but it’s the same answer as Haaland,” Tuchel said. “We have full respect for Manchester City and Sergio Aguero, who is a big player for them

“There is no words needed for me about the achievements of this guy, he is a world-class player. But we have three competitions in which we are in with Manchester City so I will not speak about their player.”

Aguero has been one of the very best strikers in the Premier League for the last few years, but at the end of the day, is it really worth giving him a big contract until the end of next season?

Reports have claimed that Chelsea have closed in on a transfer deal for Raphael Varane after Thomas Tuchel asked the club to sign a new defender.

Tuchel has done a wonderful job as boss of Chelsea since his arrival just a few months ago and they are now on course to get back inside that top four spot, while also add a trophy to the cabinet in the Champions League or FA Cup.

But now Chelsea have emerged as serious contenders, according to German publication Bild, due to Thomas Tuchel’s interest in the player.

The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of 2022 and Madrid do not want to lose one of the clubs most important players for nothing, so they would reportedly be more willing to sell in the transfer window this time around.

However, he will not come cheap as the report also goes on to say that Madrid will still demand an asking price of £88 million for Varane, who is easily regarded as one of the top five central defenders in world football.

Look, if Chelsea are interested in adding another defender to that back-line in the summer, then they would be very wise to spend their money to try and land Varane. He really is that good of a defender a player that would help send a statement to the rest of the Premier League.

So if Madrid are open to selling, Chelsea should get as close to that £88 million that Madrid are reportedly interested in as he would be a great, great signing.

Chelsea target Achraf Hakimi has shut down speculation regarding his future by insisting he is happy at Inter Milan.

There have been some reports in the media suggesting that Chelsea are planning for potential new signings in this coming transfer window, as they seek to improve the side.

It will mean that Thomas Tuchel will be able to delve into the clubs transfer kitty and add a few players to the squad that will add some experience, and quality in the right areas of the pitch, as the defence is not the best at Stamford Bridge

That has led to alot of speculation in the media linking the Chelsea with a whole host of possible summer signings, with some of the biggest names on that shopping list of Tuchel, but now it seems that he has turned his attentions to Hakimi.

But Hakimi has declared he wants to remain at the San Siro, as he told La Repubblica: “The team that attracted me the most was Inter and I saw it as a growth project.

“I am honoured to be one of the testimonials for the new club logo. I like it, as it looks to the future, a future we can build together.

“I hope to stay at this club for a long time and I’m very happy.”

Chelsea do have a very good defence but that will need to be added too in the coming transfer window, so the news that Hakimi will come as a massive blow to their transfer plans, but they have other targets they can still pursue.

Midfielder Ross Barkley will be heading back to Chelsea in the summer after Aston Villa boss Dean Smith made a transfer admission over the star.

Having struggled for regular game time as part of a star-studded squad at Stamford Bridge, a loan move was always expected to be put in place this season, and Barkley jumped at the chance to join Villa.

Across 20 outings in the English top flight for Villa, Barkley has registered three goals and one assist, but More was expected and he will face another big decision on his future when returning to west London over the summer.

Villa boss Smith told reporters when asked if an extended stay for Barkley will be explored: “No, Ross Barkley came in on loan at the start of the season.

“Obviously, Frank Lampard was the manager at the time we brokered a deal to bring him in on loan.

“He’s got another two years left on his contract at Chelsea and that’s not been discussed at all.”

Timo Werner says “everybody is happy” at Chelsea despite reports of possible exits from Stamford Bridge.

The German tactician has mixed things up since taking the reins in west London, with various systems implemented, and there is some rumours in the media which have suggested he will take that tinkering into the summer transfer window.

Tuchel does have a top-class squad, but he knows that he needs to add a bit more quality into key areas of that pitch to really challenge for a Premier League or Champions League title next season.

Discussing the changes made by Tuchel on Chelsea’s ‘Mike’d Up’ series, Germany international Werner said: “I think he, like everybody can see, changed a lot of players and type of how we play like the manager before, but I think it’s the new system we play now with three in the back.

“It changed in part of that we don’t concede goals. I think that’s really important.

“In Germany we say, ‘a good offence wins you games, but a good defence wins you titles’. We always win games like 1-0, 2-0, so always with good defensive work, but also he gives us good structure, in front he gives us different systems.

“Sometimes we play with a 10 and two strikers, sometimes we play with one striker and two 10s behind, sometimes with three strikers. So it’s very different how we play. I think it fits us very well.

“It gives us a little bit of rotation in our squad that everybody is happy and everybody can play in their best positions.”

It is great news that alot of people at the club are happy, but Tuchel will be ruthless in the transfer window and it will be very interesting to see the type of player that he looks to bring to London
