£30M valued striker reveals big Chelsea transfer decision after sealing move!
CHELSEA done alot of transfer business over the course of the summer window – with some high-profile players leaving the club and a few big names making the move to Stamford Bridge.
But it was widely expected that a new centre-forward would make the move to London towards the end of the transfer window – especially as the club really struggled to score goals on a weekly basis last season.
And Dusan Vlahovic – who only moved to Juventus last summer – is a player that had been heavily tipped to leave the Italians and make the move to the Blues, but his salary demands were far too high and instead the Blues made a move for Wahi.
Wahi has now opened up about his failed move to Stamford Bridge as he claimed that he did not want to join the Premier League giants “just for the sake of it”.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
Speaking to L’Equipe, Wahi said, “Chelsea – I didn’t want to go there just for the sake of it. Frankfurt was close, more so than Chelsea. I spoke with the manager there (Dino Toppmöller).
‘He speaks French and that was important for me. They had to wait for Randal Kolo Muani’s departure and waiting for it was too complicated. I don’t have any regrets.”
