Mikel Arteta told to sign outstanding Premier League star
Former Gunners star Theo Walcott has urged Arsenal to sign Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins this summer
the Gunners played some brilliant football last season, were one of the best attacking sides to watch and were the best defensively, but they still failed to beat Man City to that Premier League title.
This transfer window the board have confirmed that there will be money for Mikel Arteta to spend – the Spanish boss will be able to sign the players that he needs to really take that title away from Guardiola next season .
Now – amid all the speculation – The former Gunners star has urged his former club to sign two Premier League players to help them compete with Manchester City next year.
He told SunSport: “Arsenal did great, they competed throughout the whole season and learnt a lot from previous mistakes.
“I think what Mikel Arteta has done and the atmosphere at ARSENAL is incredible. What we are missing is a striker, and to have that balance on the bench.
“I’d say that’s the one thing, maybe Mikel didn’t trust his bench as much. I’m looking at someone like an Alexander Isak or an Ollie Watkins who’s been established in the Premier League.
“We may look abroad but I’m a big believer in someone who is proven in the Premier League.”

Watkins was brilliant last season for Aston Villa, but he is happy at the club and looking forward to playing Champions League football with the club under Unai Emery.
So even though he would be a brilliant signing for Mikel Arteta – we cannot see Watkins leaving Villa this summer simply because he is far too happy at the club and playing some of the best football of his career.
