Here is a roundup of the top West Ham news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –

Frank McAvennie would like to see Harry Maguire at WEST HAM if he leaves Man United at the end of the current season.

The England international starred at the World Cup for the Three Lions, but Luke Shaw has started over him at centre-back in Man United’s first two league games since the mid-season break.

There had been some speculation in the media that Chelsea are plotting a shock move for the Englishman this transfer window as they seek to cover their defensive issues and add another defender to the squad.

But it was the Hammers that seemingly made the first move to try and get a deal done, according to recent reports on the Daily Mail. who claimed that the West Ham board contacted Man United over a possible loan deal for Maguire.

And amid all the speculation – McAvennie has claimed he would be happy to see Maguire at the London Stadium.

I would not mind him at West Ham,” he told Football Insider.

His England performances have been decent but his Man United performances have been awful. We could do with a centre-half as well.

There will not be a shortage of clubs that want him and they will get him for £30/£40m.”

Maguire is a real leader – he is a solid defender that never really does anything wrong in a game – he is just done at Man United. He should have left the Red Devils in the January window.

West Ham wanted him but Man United wanted him to stay – so come the summer window – we believe that it will be the best time for him to leave and to be honest – West Ham would be a very good option for the Englishman.

There will be other clubs that are interested in Maguire – but his leadership is perfect for that Hammers back-line – he is a proven top-level player

Moyes to leave?

Frank McAvennie has claimed that David Moyes could decide to leave WEST HAM at the end of the season on his own occord.

“Yeah maybe, the fans are right on his case at the moment,” he told West Ham Zone.

He’s not doing himself any favours by keep coming out talking about the European run. Forget about it.

“I think there were only 30,000 tickets sold for the Europa Conference League game, that wouldn’t have happened last year.

“So I think the fans are showing their unrest and when that happens something has got to give.

“I just don’t think the team is playing well enough. And with the players that we’ve got, I’m looking at it and it doesn’t make sense. The players we’ve got shouldn’t be anywhere near the position they’re in.

“Going forward we’ve got some of the best in the league. They’ve not been doing it, whether that’s coaching or they want to move, I don’t know, but they’ve not been doing it. So something has got to give.

“They’re not getting results week in week out, so I don’t know what’s going on. Whether it’s the manager, they’re not getting on with him, if there’s arguments, I was told there’s arguments in the dressing room and all that, so I don’t know.

“I was well happy last year with the run they were on and the European stuff and all that, but they were doing well in the league. Europe’s a bonus, it’s great, but I don’t want to go back to struggling against relegation every year. It’s not what was promised to the West Ham fans.

“Something has got to give, someone’s got to move on, something has to change.”

Maguire tipped for move –

Former Scottish footballer Frank McAvennie insists WEST HAM target Kieran Tierney is the best left-back in the Premier League and backs him to leave ARSENAL.

Tierney was signed by the Gunners just a few seasons ago after establishing himself over in the Scottish Leagues, and he quickly established himself as a firm favourite at the Emirates.

However – a number of injuries have limited his time on the pitch and after the Gunners signed Oleksander Zinchenko – he has really struggled to get in the side this season.

That has led to all sorts of speculation in the media that he is one player that the Arsenal would be open to letting go at the end of the season – with the likes of Newcastle and West Ham linked with a move

Now – amid all the speculation McAvennie has backed the left-back to leave Arsenal – He tells Football Insider:

“Real Madrid were looking at Tierney. I think he is the best left-back in the Premier League, I think he is different class.

“Arsenal are not playing him at left-back because they are playing Zinchenko instead but he is not as defensively-minded as Tierney.

“Tierney is not bad at going forward but he is not getting involved in midfield like Zinchenko does and that is what the manager wants.

“Going to Newcastle would be a great piece of business, I think he would definitely strengthen the defence. They have got the money to go and spend and get Tierney.”

It has been a shame to see that such a talented player has been plagued by injuries at the top level, but that is because he has been giving so much for ARSENAL

However – now may be the best time to leave the club as his game time will become even more limited – so a switch to a club like WEST HAM or Newcastle could be a very good decision to make.

But he is a fighter and there is still a chance that he could stay at the club and fight for his place in the side.
