‘Welcome to Chelsea’ Blues announce English midfielder has now SIGNED!

CHELSEA have confirmed the signing of Alex Matos from Norwich City.

Chelsea have been signing some of the most exciting players in the game over the last couple of transfer windows and have already done alot of business this summer window.

The board have a long-term plan for the club and that is why the likes of Gabriel Santos – Kendry Paez and now Matos has made the move to the Premier League giants this summer.

The 18-year-old can play in midfield or further forward and played for the Canaries’ Under-18s and Under-21s last season.

He signed his first professional contract at Carrow Road last year, but joins for free.

Chelsea posted on the club website: ‘Capable of playing in midfield and attack, Matos featured for Norwich’s Under-18s and Under-21s last season. He scored three goals in the Premier League 2 for the latter.

‘An England international at schoolboy level, Matos joined Norwich from Luton Town in 2016 and struck on his first outing for the Canaries’ youth team against Arsenal shortly after his 16th birthday.

‘The 18-year-old averaged a goal involvement per game – five goals, six assists – in his first 11 appearances at that level and became a regular for Norwich’s Under-18s during the 2022/23 campaign, in which he was also handed his debut for the Under-21s.

CHELSEA have been making signings this summer – but so far – they have failed to replace the quality that have been leaving the club.

Matos is obviously a talent and one signed for the future – but at the end of the day guys – fans are waiting for that big named signing to arrive – to be linked – not all these talents that wont make a difference to the clubs fortunes next season.
