Tagliafico move to be made, Chelsea open Savic talks, Werner message sent, Sancho will cost more than £50 million in Chelsea news roundup..
Gary Neville has told the likes of Chelsea boss Frank Lampard that Jadon Sancho just might cost a little more than £50m.
Now there has been alot of speculation regarding the future of Jadon Sancho all season, with both Chelsea and Manchester United very keen to try and acquire his services in the next couple of transfer windows.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard knows that he needs to add some special players to his side to help take the club back to that top level, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows that he is just a couple of bad signings and a couple of bad results from getting the chop at Manchester United.
However, it seems that Chelsea are leading the chase for Sancho, as they will have more financial power in the summer window to complete the deals that will help improve this side.
Sancho is valued in excess of £100m by the German giants – but with the Coronavirus hitting clubs hard, his valuation could be cut due to the ongoing health crisis.
It is believed that man clubs believed that they could try and land Sancho in the summer for a fee that is just around the £50 million mark because of the on-going coronavirus, but Neville has admitted that he will probably cost more than that.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Neville said:”I think you might have to pay a little bit more than that, Ole. That’s the problem because some clubs think that other clubs will get desperate and sell players on the cheap. But I’m not sure you can bully clubs like Borussia Dortmund.
“What these young lads have demonstrated in the last two or three years is that they aren’t going to be hoarded by these big clubs that don’t give them football matches.
“It’s been proven that lads who have moved away and shown a bit of courage to get some football have benefited from it. It was something at the time you questioned, ‘how can you leave Manchester City?’, ‘How can you turn down the opportunity?’
“But they weren’t putting players in the first team Manchester City at that time and what he’s done is give himself a wonderful experience and furthered his career.”
Fresh reports have claimed Chelsea are planning to make ‘a serious offer’ for Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico, now he can leave the club.
Chelsea have been in the headlines for the past few months as reports have claimed that boss Frank Lampard is desperate to spend some serious money and acquire a new left-back.
And that has led to some reports in the media suggesting that they are interested in trying to sign Tagliafico from Ajax, with reports claiming that they see him as a cheaper alternative to top transfer target Ben Chilwell.
Now reports from Spain suggest Chelsea have already made an approach for Tagliafico, but face competition from Barcelona and the likes of Arsenal for the 27-year-old’s signature.
Mundo Deportivo claim the Argentine has a proposal on the table from the Premier League club, but reveal nothing about the details of a deal.
Now, According to Transfermarketweb, Chelsea will make a “serious offer” at bringing him to Stamford Bridge in hope that they can land the mans signature for a fee of around the £25 million mark.
The report goes on to suggest that Tagliafico has an agreement to leave Ajax in the summer transfer window and is actually interested in making that transfer move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea have reportedly opened talks with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s representatives over the Lazio star moving to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has already been a busy man over the last few months, as he has got Chelsea talking with a number of first team players about staying at the club, while adding the brilliant Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech to the side.
But Willian has dominated the headlines over the past few months as he will be leaving Chelsea after failing to agree a new contract with the club, with reports suggesting he wanted a three-year deal to stay, and Chelsea were not ready to offer that.
That means that Chelsea may have to delve into that transfer kitty once again to land a possible replacement for the Brazilian, with reports now claiming Savic is on the shopping list, with Le 10 Sport claiming Chelsea are speaking to the player’s team about a move
Claude Makelele is involved in the discussions, advising Chelsea, but the Blues will face competition from Paris Saint-Germain.
The French champions have made an offer of £54m for Milinkovic-Savic, although PSG are unwilling to increase their bid.
The club’s sporting director Igli Tare recently claimed the Serie A side will ‘assess’ things at the end of the season regarding the future of Savic.
“The player’s desire is crucial. Generally speaking, if a player thinks that their time is up and wants to go somewhere else, it shouldn’t be a problem,” Tare told Goal
‘Eras come to an end. Just look what happened to Napoli this season. The fact he stayed in Rome for five years is because he has strong links with the city and club.
‘When there was some temptation, a bit on our part, a bit on his, we never went all the way. However, things must be assessed at the end of the season.’
Germany legend Oliver Bierhoff has backed compatriot Timo Werner to be a big hit in the Premier League with Chelsea.
The forward has enjoyed a hugely successful spell with Leipzig, scoring 95 goals in 159 games across all competitions over the last four seasons and became the clubs record goal-scorer in his final game for the club.
But he is all set to test himself in the best League in world football after completing his move to Chelsea, and there are many out there that believe he could score Chelsea their way to some titles in the next couple of seasons.
Now 52-year-old Bierhoff believes Werner has the qualities to shine abroad, but he will just need to get used to his new surrounding.
‘In a foreign country, you are left to your own devices,’ Bierhoff told the Athletic.
‘There’s a risk factor involved, but I would always do it again because you mature so much. Italy was a shock to me at first.
‘You believe football is the same everywhere, but it’s totally different everywhere. The people are different, the dressing room humour is different, communication is different, the game is different.
‘You need a bit of time to get used to it. There is an expectation on you that you should not take too long, of course, but I believe that Timo’s obsessive quest for goals and his ambitiousness will help him settle quickly.
‘He doesn’t look left or right too much, he’s focused on scoring and performing well. And with his pace, he will score goals in England, I’m sure.’
Paul Merson has revealed the two signings Chelsea need to make to become a ‘major force’ in the Premier League next season.
Frank Lampard has already started his summer of spending, even though the transfer window has not opened yet, and the Blues boss has already acquired the services of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.
And with the players that he already has at Stamford Bridge, there have been many in the media who have claimed that the club could challenge for that Premier League title with the signings of the world class pair.
But Arsenal legend Merson has opened up and claimed that Chelsea need to add another left-back and maybe a centre-half to the squad before they can be considered serious challengers for that title.
The Arsenal legend told Sky Sports: ‘I think Chelsea need a left-back, and they might need another centre-half, and then they’ll be a major force next season.
‘I don’t think they’ll win the Premier League next season, but the gap won’t be as big. ‘They mean business. The owner has been brilliant; he’s weighed it up and gone – bang! Here’s your money.
‘He’s looked at the situation and thought, “Tottenham are struggling, Pep Guardiola won’t be at City forever”, and he’s trying to get into the top four, close the gap and challenge when they have their chance.
‘With Liverpool putting up records like they have with their players being as good as they are, it’s only a matter of time before the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid come calling.
‘In three or four years, I’d be quite shocked if Chelsea don’t win the Premier League.’
There is no doubt that Chelsea have done some wonderful business that will push them towards the very top next season, but that back-line does need improving as having a great attack will not win you that Premier League title.
If Chelsea can improve that back-line in the summer, then yes Merson is right, and they will then be serious title contenders for Liverpool and Manchester City. But will they have the money to get two more deals done?
