‘Money talks’ David Moyes drops West Ham admission over possible powerhouse deal

David Moyes has seemingly suggested that Michail Antonio would be allowed to leave if the price was right – but admitted that he is unlikely to leave West Ham.

After a brilliant season last year and a summer of spending – but things were expected from this Hammers side this season and hope of a Champions Push could be on the cards.

However – West Ham have failed to win in seven Premier League games since October 24 – collecting just one point out of 21 – to drop to second bottom in the Premier League – and now look to be in a real scrap to stay up.

The January signing of Danny Ings has led to some rumours in the media claiming that West Ham will not look to offload Antonio as he will no longer be needed at London Stadium.

Speaking after his side’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Derby County on Monday night, a game in which Antonio scored West Ham’s second, Moyes has admitted that money talks but was also quick to shoot down any suggestions that his forward could depart.

He said: “Money talks in football everywhere but at the moment, no, I’d say there’s no chance.

“Let’s be fair, there’s probably prices for every player around the country but at the moment, I don’t think there’s any price we are interested in taking for Mick. I’d probably say no to that.”

Look, Antonio is a brilliant attacker that West Ham fans love – so the news that he will be staying will be welcomed.

He is very useful to the side – his power is unmatched in the Premier League and quite honestly – it would be a shame to see him leave.

However – saying that, sitting on the bench every week is something that many people do not want to see and we would not be shocked to see him leave on transfer deadline day, there are a few clubs interested.
