West Ham board backed to seal massive £100 million transfer deal
West Ham could still secure £100million for Declan Rice this summer – That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus
Over the past few seasons Declan Rice has developed into one of the best players at the club – and one of the most impressive midfielders that the Premier League has to offer.
He really is the leader at the Hammers and a man that they are hoping to keep at the club for as long as they are possibly too – but that has not stopped speculation regarding his long-term future at the club
Chelsea have been linked with a move for the player – and are seemingly winning the race – but again Arsenal fans have been told that the club are in a very good position to seal a deal for Rice.
Now – McManus claims the club can still secure a hefty fee for Rice despite him having less than 18 months left on his contract: “West Ham won’t let him go for nothing, that much I do know,” McManus told Football Insider
“He’s their best and most important player but there has to be a balance. West Ham know they can’t let him go for nothing because he will just walk away if that’s what it comes to.
“I think £100million could be a decent price because the guy is unbelievable and the club need to cover themselves.
“Take him out and what happens? It’s not great for them. He’s the captain, the one they look to when things aren’t going well.
“You take someone like that out of a team and it can all fall apart. That has to be the worry for them now.
“After a few seasons of Europe they could be back to relegation fights and that’s not where that club should be.“
