Here is a roundup of the top West Ham news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –

It has been claimed that West Ham have now made contact with Arsenal over a potential deal for defender Kieran Tierney.

A few seasons ago – Tierney was a player that the fans loved and that Mikel Arteta really relied on – but injuries have really ruined his time at the Emirates and he has really struggled for game time.

That has led to constant speculation in the media that he is one player that will be leaving the club – with the likes of WEST HAM and Newcastle two clubs that are interested in a possible deal.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

The Express have claimed that the Hammers have registered their interest in signing the Scotland International to Arsenal for a fee of £20M, which is less than what Arsenal are demanding.

It has been suggested that WEST HAM are looking for an upgrade to current left-back Aaron Cresswell.

The report comes after Pundit Alan Hutton has claimed that Tierney needs to leave Arsenal.

WHAT WAS SAID –

“Unfortunately I think he will be a squad player,” he told Football Insider.

“I think Zinchenko is number one and it is up to Tierney to dislodge him. Does he have the potential to do it? Absolutely. I think he is a brilliant footballer who gives you everything. The problem for him at Arsenal is that the way they play does not suit Tierney’s strengths.

“He is a very strong 1v1 defender who likes to get up and down but I think Zinchenko is ahead of him at this moment in time.

“Tierney has what it takes to get him out. As long as he stays fit he has an opportunity but he will have a fight on his hands.“

SHOULD TIERNEY LEAVE THE CLUB?

The short answer is yes he should.

He is now well down the pecking order at the Emirates and will struggle to make an impact next season – and he needs to be playing at this stage of his career.

There are some decent teams interested – so a move may be a very good idea.

BALOGUN CHANCE –

Arsenal are now expecting to sell West Ham Folarin Balogun this summer, with a whole host of clubs interested in a potential deal.

The USA striker, 22, has been linked with Inter Milan and Prem clubs following his sensational loan season with Reims in which he netted an impressive 21-goals for the French side in the League.

He has already come out and admitted that he needs to play in the coming seasons – and Mikel Arteta has been unable to give him the assurances that he needs to 100 per cent make the decision to stay put.

There are a few clubs that are interested in the striker now, with Tottenham joining Inter Milan and WEST HAM in the chase for the £50 million valued attacker.

Now – amid all the speculation and rumors Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has provided an update on the future of Balogun and has claimed that the Gunners expect to sell the forward this transfer window.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

Galetti revealed: “Other Premier League clubs have been asking for information about Balogun but he is keen to sign for Inter Milan and play for the Nerazzurri in the Champions League.

“New developments are for sure expected in the next few days and Arsenal would like to sell Balogun this summer because he’s not in Arteta’s plans.

“There is a high chance that with little game time, his value may decrease in the next month and that’s why Arsenal don’t want to miss out on a potentially important sale.”

SHOULD WEST HAM SIGN THE STRIKER?

The Hammers have been doing some good business over the past few days and we are fully expecting that to continue over the next few weeks, there is alot of hype surrounding Balogun and if WEST HAM could get him for the right price, he could well be a good signing for the club

MAGUIRE WANTS £15M PAYOFF –

Harry Maguire is demanding a £15million pay-off to join West Ham, reports SunSport’s Neil Custis.

Maguire has been the subject of intense speculation over the past few months after it was learned that he would no longer be part of the plans that boss Erik ten Hag has in place for the club.

That has allowed WEST HAM to make their moves to try and get a deal done and United chiefs thought they had a deal done after agreeing a £30m fee with the Hammers.

The Red Devils’ hierarchy also offered Maguire a £6m payment to leave, but it seems that a deal is not as easy as many Hammers fans would have liked.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

The centre-back is holding out for more than twice that, with him facing a wage cut to move to the London Stadium.

The England international would have to reduce his wages from £190,000 a week to £120,000 – which would come to a shortfall of £14.5m over a four-year contract.

The 30-year-old already has two years left of his current deal at Old Trafford, which would be worth £19.7million.

WOULD MAGUIRE BE A GOOD SIGNING?

There has been alot said about the defender, but in the right side, with the right players around him, he is a very good defender.

He is also a leader, a winner and a proven Premier League star, so for that £30 million he could be a real bargain buy, especially with all the transfer fees that are going around at the moment.

But he cant let greed get the best of him – he would be a fool to turn down a move to WEST HAM because of money – he is right at the back-end of his playing days guys.
