West Ham board told £50M valued star ‘will leave’ – could make London Stadium move
Jobi McAnuff says West Ham transfer target James Ward-Prowse will leave Southampton this summer.
There has been alot of transfer speculation regarding the future of James Ward-Prowse in recent weeks as WEST HAM have become very interested in getting a transfer deal done for the man.
They need to get some signing into the club, and now that Edson Alvarez is making the move to London Stadium – they are interested in snapping up JWP for a summer bargain.
Following Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League last season, it was obvious to all that their star players were going to be chased and the Hammers have already made a couple of offers for the man.
Now – amid all the speculation and the rumours – McAnuff has opened up and claimed that Ward-Prowse will leave the Saints this summer and the likes of West Ham and Tottenham could sign him.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
“Where is the trade-off in trying to maximise what you are trying to get for a player, which I can understand and then absolutely getting that business done, so Russell Martin can crack on,” said McAnuff.
“James Ward-Prowse will leave, so from that point of view, a call needs to be made. Yes, you want to get your value. But you have to give Russel Martin, the best chance of succeeding.”
SHOULD WARD-PROWSE CONSIDER WEST HAM MOVE?
JWP is not at that stage of his career that he will probably not join a Champions League side – but in West Ham, he could join a side that will challenge for Europe and maybe another title.
Last season was poor for WEST HAM – but a couple of good signings and it will be totally different over in the coming campaign.
