West Ham Fans told incoming Arrival ‘is absolutely brilliant’

Spanish football expert and Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague has jumped to the defence of his compatriot Julen Lopetegui

David Moyes has done a great job during his stay at the club and that European win last season was a massive achievement for the club – but the decision was made to let him leave and bring in Lopetegui.

Lopetegui or his agents had Sky Sports News primed with an update to drop right on full-time of West Ham’s car crash of a performance at Chelsea, as the boss has told WEST HAM he’s ‘excited’ to take over as the charm offensive begins.

“Two things about Lopetegui. He DID NOT leave Wolves because he thought the squad was poor. It was because the goalpost was moved THREE times. If at work your boss lies to you three times, do you stay? A man of principle like him has to go.

Secondly, he WAS NOT born as a manager when he arrived in England, where he had EXTRAORDINARY success with Wolves (from bottom to 13th, 7 points from relegation).

He was actually brilliant at Sevilla, Spain, and Porto, and was even chosen as a Real Madrid manager, no less. He is a very top, exciting manager.

Not sure why Wolves fans are upset with him and not with the board.”

Time will tell if he has the players (now or later) to try is favourite approach moving forward and whether or not he will get the backing from the board in the summer transfer window

He deserves the benefit of the doubt, but if he gets a string of bad results early in the season, the fans are going to crucify him. But he is a manager that has managed at the top of the game and could be very good if he is given time.
