Boss Officially tells West Ham fans if £40 million star will join this summer

Mauricio Pochettino says Conor Gallagher is very much in his Chelsea plans amid rumours he could be leaving the club

That has led to constant speculation in the media that WEST HAM are very keen to try and get a deal done for the midfielder – and have even made an offer of £40 million, which has been rejected by the Blues.

But there is a feeling that the Hammers will come back with an improved offer that Chelsea may then accept – especially if it meets their £50 million valution on the midfielder.

However, Pochettino has now claimed that he wants Gallagher in his squad for the coming season and stressed that he is looking to add to his midfield options and not limit them.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID – 

‘At the moment, we are working to reinforce that area, and other areas also,’ the manager said in a press conference ahead of Chelsea’s pre-season match with Newcastle in Atlanta.

‘I think the players that are here on the tour are in our plans, Chelsea plans. At the moment, nothing to say about the players we have here. We are working very hard to try to add more players in different areas and hope that is possible soon.

‘Both parts have to say and have to agree. At the moment, nothing to say. Conor is in our plans, I was talking with him the first day I arrive.

‘In football, things can happen we cannot manage. At the moment, I am happy with him and his performance, he has two years on his contract. Nothing to say.’

SHOULD GALLAGHER STAY AT CHELSEA?

There is no doubt that Gallagher is a talented midfielder that could shine under Pochettino – so if the boss wants him at Stamford Bridge – stay. Especially as there is only five central midfielders now at the club.

However – WEST HAM would mean that he gets to play every week and he may be missing out on a great opportunity at the Hammers as he will walk straight into that starting eleven.
