West Ham have made decision about signing £30 million rated striker!

West Ham have reportedly pulled out of a move for Lille’s Jonathan David, it has been claimed in the media

The Canadian forward has emerged as a potential transfer target for West Ham over the past few months, as the Hammers will be desperate to add a new striker to that attack when the summer transfer window opens up.

Ivan Toney of Brentford has also been linked with a shock move to West Ham – but David would represent a cheaper alternative the big powerhouse as they could sign the Canadian star for just £30 million

However – The Sun claim the Hammers were willing to match the French club’s £30 million asking price, but the striker’s agents fees have caused huge issues.

David’s representative is said to be looking for £10 million, which would be 33 per cent of the total fee the Hammers would pay Lille.

The Hammers aren’t the only Premier League club interested in the Canadian international, with Chelsea and Newcastle also keen.

However, it remains to be seen if either of those two would be willing to David’s agent £10 million.

David recently provided an update on his future during his latest interview with French media lavoixdunord.

“I have a year left in my contract and frankly, I am not thinking about it. There were rumours in the past, but I will stay at Lille until I sign for another club,” said the Canadian striker.

His contract with Lille runs out in June 2025 but the striker is not aware of negotiations between his agent and the club.

“I don’t know if the club has spoken to my agent,” he said.

“Surely we’ll do it at the end of the season. There are important games remaining, and I want to focus on the pitch.”
