Here is a roundup of the top West Ham news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –

Jose Mourinho has been ‘delivered a remarkable offer’ by West Ham to replace David Moyes as manager, according to reports.

The Hammers sit just one point above the relegation zone and Moyes is under pressure at the London Stadium from he fans, who expected more having seen their club spend £170m on new players in the summer.

The West Ham owners have come out in support of Moyes but LaRoma24.it (via Sport Witness) claim the club has identified Mourinho as a possible replacement should the current boss be shown the door.

The report claims  West Ham are said to have taken concrete steps and ‘delivered a remarkable offer’ to land Mourinho.

It’s claimed that although Mourinho is flattered by the ‘rich contract’ and West Ham project, his focus remains on Roma, with whom he is under contract until the summer of 2024.

Pundit Frank McAvennie “would like” Jose Mourinho as the new West Ham United manager: “Everything is about opinions and I wouldn’t want David Moyes to go. I wouldn’t want anyone to get sacked,” McAvennie exclusively told West Ham Zone.

“But me as a player I would play for him (Mourinho). You read books and certain players would do anything for him. If Mourinho has a problem he will tell you to your face, he won’t go behind a player’s back.

“I would play for Mourinho if something happened to David Moyes. If he did get sacked then I don’t have a problem with Mourinho taking the job. I think the fans would accept him. I don’t know how he’d get on with David Sullivan so that might be a problem.

“Moyes is still in a job and I want it to work, but would I like Mourinho, course I would.”

Hammers make Mourinho moves –

It has been claimed that West Ham have made moves to try and bring Roma boss Jose Mourinho back to the Premier League.

Although The Scot celebrated three years in charge in his second spell with the club this month – there is alot of rumours about his future

The Hammers have one of the very best squads in the Premier League but have Been struggling this season and are now in a relegation battle that no-one could have seen at the start of the campaign.

Their last outing ended in a shocking 4-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton. It will have done little to convince fans that the players are working hard for Moyes, or that they are fully prepared for the relegation scrap.

Mourinho is currently the manager of AS Roma, who are sitting behind second-placed Inter after winning the Europa Conference League last season, but he always wants the chance to manage in the Premier League.

As per Italian source La Roma 24, the West Ham board have taken steps to try and replace the Scot.

Pundit Darren Bent recently claimed that he could see Mourinho making a move to replace Moyes at West Ham: “I would (be stunned if Mourinho returned to Chelsea for a third time),” said Bent. “He was magnificent the first time, brilliant the second time and won the league again, then the wheels fell off and it didn’t work.

“You can’t mock what he’s done, in terms of being a football manager. He is outstanding. One of the very best. His Premier League record is incredible, at all clubs. He’s had 362 games as a manager, he’s won 217, drew 84 and he’s only lost 61. That’s frightening.

“At the top end of the Premier League table, it’s not just about winning trophies now. I think fans want to see a certain style.

“Would they (Palace) swap Vieira for him? I don’t know. Palace fans probably would. You look at teams like Brentford, they’re not swapping Thomas Frank for him. De Zerbi at Brighton, now swapping him.

“I think so (to West Ham), but then would Mourinho go to West Ham?! Could he go in there, get results and not spend? Chelsea would rather replace Potter with a Tuchel rather than a Jose. No, I wouldn’t swap Arteta (for Jose).”

Carrick tipped for move –

WEST HAM fans have been told that Michael Carrick could be in the frame to replace David Moyes should he get the sack by the club.

West Ham finished seventh in the Premier League last season and reached the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League, and there was a massive feeling that they could push on from that this season.

However – Performances this season have been nowhere near as good though, with the club facing the prospect of relegation after failing to keep the clean sheets and score the goals that many had hoped for.

Defeat at Brighton has followed their FA Cup exit at the hands of Manchester United during the week, and it is widely believed that the Hammers board are now becoming more frustrated with Moyes, and are ready to find a replacement.

And that led to stunning reports that Carrick is being lined up as a possible replacement to Moyes.
