West Ham ‘have agreement’ to sign impressive Ligue 1 star

West Ham United reportedly have an agreement in place to sign striker Terem Moffi from Lorient in the January transfer window.

The Hammers are sitting way down in the Premier League and find themselves in a relegation battle that no-one could have predicted at the very start of the new season – especially after they splashed some serious cash in the summer.

That has led to speculation that West Ham will look to try and sign a new striker this transfer window – and they made the move to sign Danny Ings from Aston Villa in a deal worth £17 million.

However – Moffi has been a player that is heavily linked with a move to London Stadium over the past few months and is a man that has been impressing during the season so far.

Mohamed Toubache-Ter suggests that the Ligue 1 outfit actually have an agreement in place to sell Moffi to West Ham – but he could still join either Nice or Marseille instead of the Hammers, according to the journalist.

Amid the speculation – Paul Robinson has admitted that he baffled by interest from West Ham in Lorient striker – he told the Football Insider: “I do not think there is many positions that they can strengthen in.

“The priority for Moyes will be to get all of his players fit. The performance that they gave at Leeds United was promising. It was not the performance of a team that was struggling at the wrong end of the table.

“When you look at their starting XI if it strong enough to compete in the top half of the table. They should not be in a relegation fight.

“I wonder whether European football has taken its toll over the past two seasons.

“I cannot understand the talk of Moffi. They do not need another striker. Moyes only plays with one up front. They have already got Antonio and Scamacca. There is no need to bring a third option in the equation.”
