West Ham are reportedly interested in trying to sign Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson.

England international Wilson is into the final 18 months of his contract at Newcastle, and the Magpies could be forced to consider offers of between £18m and £20m to help ease their concerns over breaching Premier League profit and sustainability rules.

Some senior figures at WEST HAM believe they need to sign a new No.9 this window while Chelsea are also interested.

It’s a bargain price for a proven Premier League goalscorer, with the England international managing a record of 86 goals in 215 top flight appearances for Bournemouth and Newcastle.

The Magpies have already turned a loan swoop down for the 31-year-old from Atletico Madrid, while AC Milan have also shown interest this month.

But the Toon must sell before buying to remain within Financial Fair Play rules, and the centre-forward’s contract is up next summer.

And amid the speculation – his manager Eddie Howe has insisted all clubs could lose their best talent because of FFP.

He said: “[Wilson] is 100 per cent committed to Newcastle. We want two fit strikers and want to keep him, but obviously, some things are out of my control.”

He added: “It’s been a difficult window so far. It’s the first time since I’ve been manager that we’ve been linked with players leaving. That creates an unsettling dynamic.

“We want to keep our squad intact and keep our best players, but I’m also aware of the club side and FFP is affecting all clubs. We’re no different to any other club.”

PHILLIPS SPEAKS – 

Kalvin Phillips has admitted that he is excited to get going after making his move to West Ham this January

Phillips may have alot more trophies since his move to Man City from Leeds – but he has seen his career take a nosedive as he has struggled to make any sort of impact under Pep Guardiola.

That has led to all sorts of speculation – but with the player seeking a move in order to get a place in that England European side for next summer –  a loan move to WEST HAM had been mooted.

But after a few weeks of speculation and rumours – the midfielder finally ended his Man City nightmare and made the decision that a loan move to the Hammers that is one he needed to make.

And discussing his loan to West Ham, England international Kalvin Phillips said: “I’m really pleased to be here.

“There’s always been a lot of speculation about me moving to West Ham, so I’m really excited to get going now.

“There’s so much to look forward to in the second half of the season for the Club and I can’t wait to be part of it.

“There’s an unbelievable group here and if I can come in and add the quality that I know I’m capable of, I’m sure we can give the West Ham fans plenty to be excited about between now and the end of the season.”

Phillips has flopped at Man City, but he is still a quality player that will bring so much quality to that WEST HAM midfield. And he is certainly a player that will make the Hammers alot more defensively solid that is for sure.

He is a great signing for the club

WEST HAM HOLD BROJA TALKS – 

WEST HAM United ‘have always been big admirers’ of Armando Broja and could hold ‘conversations’ in a bid to get a deal done, Fabrizio Romano has claimed

Injuries, poor performances and the clubs inability to create on a regular basis has meant that Broja has struggled to make any sort of impact at Stamford Bridge, and he has been just watching his career pass him by.

This season has not been any different – and despite some decent performances – he has shown that he is not the man to lead that Chelsea attack and help drive Chelsea back into Champions League football.

Wolves, West Ham and Fulham have all been linked with an interest in the striker with Wolves wanting to sign him on loan until the end of the season.

Chelsea are said to be wanting £50m for any permanent transfer. And there is now another barrier to interested clubs with recent reports on the Mirror reporting that he is keen to stay with Chelsea and make an impact in the first team

But amid all the speculation – Romano has now come out and claimed that Chelsea are still waiting for offers to arrive for the powerhouse – and West Ham could be one of the clubs that make a late move for the striker.

Romano told GIVEMESPORT:

“Chelsea are waiting for proposals. I think there will be some conversations, so let’s see what happens.

“WEST HAM have always been big admirers of the player, and let’s see if Wolves will enter the mix because they also had some contacts to understand the conditions of the deal.

“I think Broja could be one of the names that we mention in the final days of the transfer window.”

Look, Broja is a very good talent, but he is not good enough to lead that Chelsea attack yet and has already proven that he cant score the goals.

If the right offer arrives in the coming weeks – CHELSEA should take it and use the funds to score a 20-goals a season hitman.
