Shock transfer message sent as West Ham close to second summer arrival!
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed West Ham are paying over the odds for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
With Moyes keen to make a few signings over the next few weeks – there has been alot of speculation that Ward-Prowse is a man that is wanted at WEST HAM.
Offers have been made and there is a feeling that Ward-Prowse is very interested in making the move to the Hammers – but the Board do not want to pay his massive £50 million asking price.
That led to some reports in the media that WEST HAM MADE A MOVE TO SIGN SCOTT MCTOMINAY from Man United – but they are also demanding crazy money and wants close to £45 million, and that prompted the Hammers to make a move for Ward-Prowse once again.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
Midfielder Ward-Prowse has already agreed personal terms ahead of a £40million move to the London Stadium, according to the GUARDIAN
Saints negotiated a sell-on clause for their academy graduate and David Moyes is hopeful of including him in the squad to face Bournemouth on Saturday.
But ahead of his imminent arrival to the club – Agbonlahor has opened up and claimed that the Hammers are paying over the odds for JWP and the rest of their transfer target.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
He told Football Insider: “WEST HAM are in a really weird situation now. They’re selling players like Rice and Scamacca, but everyone knows what they’ve got in the bank.
“Everyone knows they’ve got the dough. Ward-Prowse, he’s worth £25million but they could end up paying £40million.
“It is going to be the same with a lot of their other targets – McTominay, Maguire, etc.
“This is a huge problem they’re going to have in the last three weeks of the window.”
