Here is a roundup of the top West Ham news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –

Lucas Paqueta has vowed to keep on improving after a couple of impressive games for West Ham.

Paqueta was the big summer signing for the Hammers last year as they beat off a whole host of big teams in order to get him signed up – and huge things were expected of him at the team.

However – he has not really made the impact that many fans had hoped for and there had been a concern that he would be a massive waste of money – but he is starting to come good.

His performances against Arsenal, Bournemouth and Gent have all been very different from the rest of the season – and now the Brazilian has promised to keep on improving.

‘It was a great game,’ Lucas said when speaking to West Ham TV . ‘we managed to secure a really good result, four goals. I was very happy to get on the scoresheet and help West Ham get all three points.’

‘I feel the players are understanding each other more and more on the pitch. It’s normal that, with time, the players get the hang of each other.’ He confirmed that he is ‘very happy to be helping out my teammates and West Ham as a whole.’

‘I can safely say that I am adapting,’ he stated when asked about his recent improvements.

‘He did admit that ‘it took some time to identify myself with the pace of the Premier League, the physicality, but I believe I am now 100 percent adapted and I hope to get better and better and give my all each time I step out onto the field.’

‘I’m happy the goals have finally come. I hope it continues like this,’

‘He was ‘delighted’ to get his first goal at the London Stadium against Gent which was signed off with his signature dance.

Balogun chance to be given –

Emmanuel Petit thinks ARSENAL will sell WEST HAM TARGET Folarin Balogun following his impressive loan spell at Reims.

Balogun has enjoyed a fantastic breakthrough season in France, recording 19 goals and three assists in 32 games – only Jonathan David, Kylian Mbappe and Alexandre Lacazette have scored more in Ligue 1.

However, he knows that he may not be able to get ahead of Eddie Nketiah or Gabriel Jesus next season and there has been alot of speculation surrounding his future at the Emirates, with the likes of WEST HAM keeping an eye on his situation.

And now, Petit believes Arsenal could take advantage of this come the summer, telling Legal Sportsbooks: ‘I don’t know if they will continue with the strikers they have. They’ve got Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus.

‘Florian Balogun I think will be put on the market to be sold. There are so many clubs in France, and not just in France, who are very interested in him.’

Nobody could imagine the kind of season that Balogun would be having this year – he has really been impressive for Reims.

He has shown that he is no longer a bench warmer – a talent that needs to wait for his chance – he is scoring for fun in a top League and will need to join a side that will make him their number one.

We would not be surprised to see him stay in the French League with Reims – or another side – it is seemingly the place for him right now. ARSENAL are in no hurry to add another striker to that attack and done really need the lad.

It would be a waste to just bring him back to the club and then sit him on the bench every week, he is better than that, So we agree with Petit, the best thing would be to let him go and collect that £40 million.

Hammers told to sign Ward-Prowse

Gabby Agbonlahor has urged WEST HAM to seal an early-window deal for Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse

Ward-Prowse perhaps does not get the recognition he deserves because he does not play for a club competing for European qualification. But the 28-year-old, who has racked up over 100 goal contributions in almost 400 appearances for the club, is one of the best in the Premier League.

He has constantly been linked with a move to the likes of West Ham, Arsenal and Tottenham for many seasons now, but has always stayed loyal to the Saints and stayed put.

But The south coast club are currently in a relegation battle and look like a side that could be heading down to the Championship if things do not turn around soon.

Declan Rice is widely expected to leave West Ham in the off-season with a host of elite English sides interested – including Chelsea and Arsenal – and Agbonlahor has told West Ham to try and sign Ward-Prowse.

He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “Yeah, I do.

“Obviously Ward-Prowse can’t do what Rice does, in terms of running with the ball and driving with it – but he’s a top midfielder.

“He’s not going to go and play Championship football, no matter how much he loves Southampton.

“I think there’ll be a lot of teams after him. He’d suit Spurs, he’d suit Newcastle, he’d suit Villa.

“West Ham have got to get in there before these other teams and try and get a deal done early in the window.”

JWP should have left Southampton many seasons ago and joined one of the top Premier League sides – he is wasted where he is right now and should not be in a relegation battle.

However – the Hammers are not much better this season and with a new manager coming in at the end of the season – it will be a massive change and something that JWP may not fancy.

And if he does decide to leave Southampton – it will probably be for a side that is competing in the Champions League and playing at the very top of the Premier League.
