Will £40 million hitman be a good Arsenal signing after Moyes hands Arteta clear run at transfer deal?
David Moyes has ruled West Ham out of the running to sign Tammy Abraham, but would he be a good signing for Arsenal?
After fully establishing himself under Frank Lampard last season, Abraham was tipped to push on this season and become a massive part of the side, with many believing that he could even keep Timo Werner out of the side.
However, that has not been the case this season and he has struggled for goals, mainly because he has had to sit and watch from the stands, which has led to reports that The Chelsea frontman is understood to be one of Moyes’ top summer targets as he attempts to bolster his strikeforce.
But the Hammers boss says Abraham’s reported £40million price tag means the 23-year-old is well out of his range, leaving the other club, Arsenal, clear to make a transfer move in the summer window
“It would rule us out completely. We will be ruled out,” said Moyes on the Daily Mirror. “So if that’s the figure and that’s what’s being said, we are ruled out.
“We don’t have that money, we don’t have that to buy a striker at that price, no.
“Is that sort of figure our total spend? It may well be. But you never know here.
“I don’t think we will be making a purchase of that for any one player. I’d be surprised if we were.”
Abraham is a proven Premier League striker that is not being treated fairly at Chelsea, so if the Gunners are seeking to freshen up that attack, then he may be a very good option for the club to sign.
Arsenal always go or players that need time to adjust to the pace of the Premier League because they believe they get better value for money buying players from outside the Premier League, but adding Abraham could be a very smart investment by the club right?
