Will fans welcome £15 million bargain? Arsenal to open talks for defender, Expert reveals Partey injury issues and Smth-Rowe is next Paul Scholes, fans told
Smith-Rowe is next Paul Scholes, Partey injury claim made, Arsenal to open Alaba talks and will fans welcome £15m deal for Edouard in Arsenal roundup….
Arsenal fans have been told why summer signing Thomas Partey picks up so many injuries.
After establishing himself as one of the very best midfielders in La Liga, Partey was one of the best summer signings, and was supposed to be the player that would solve a real problem in the heart of that midfield.
However, he has been struggling with recurrent injuries since he has been at the Emirates this season, and He is currently sidelined again with another injury, despite the fact he has only returned from a previous injury
Now Football London has now spoken to the expert, Dr. Rajpal Brar, to find out why he keeps getting injured.
They asked him: “Partey has had a difficult run with injuries this season. Why do you think he’s been so susceptible to injuries this season?”
He said: “Multiple factors at play here. First, we have the shortened turnaround to this season which means less recovery time.
“Secondly, a player transitioning to a new team and likely trying to make a good impression resulting in higher exertion & intensity. Thirdly, the player transitioning to a higher intensity league.
“Fourthly, once he picks up the first injury, now there’s inherent risk for re-injury and fluctuating fitness levels which then increase that risk even further”
Look, Partey is a proven top-class player that should be playing every week, but he simply cannot stay fit, and that is a real problem for Mikel Arteta, who needs him in the centre of the pitch.
Arsenal plan to open talks with the agent of David Alaba after he confirmed that he is leaving Bayern Munich in the summer.
There has been alot of speculation regarding the future of Alaba over the past few months, and Arsenal are one club that are very interested in trying to tempt the left-back to the Premier League.
Right now Mikel Arteta only really has Kieren Tierney in that position, and although he has been solid this season, there is a feeling that the Spanish boss will still look to add to his squad in the summer, and Alaba is on the list.
And according to the reports that icfootballnews have learnt, is that the Arsenal board are planning to open talks with the agent of Alaba in the coming weeks, and are reportedly prepared to go as high as £350,000-a-week to seal a transfer deal.
The news comes after Alaba confirmed that he was leaving the Bundesliga giants, he told reporters on Tuesday: “It was not an easy decision. I have been here for 13 years and the association is really close to my heart. I am very grateful to the association for many things.
“I took my time because it’s not an easy decision to make overnight. I decided to do something new – a new challenge. I haven’t made the decision yet (on my new club), that remains to be seen.
“It’s no secret that my management is in contact with several clubs. But a lot is being read into it and I want to concentrate fully on my task here.
“Money has not been a factor in my decision.”
Would Arsenal fans like to see the club secure a transfer deal for Odsonne Edouard in the summer for the small fee of £15 million?
The Scottish champions are 18 points behind leaders Rangers albeit with a game in hand, and many supporters are resigned to relinquishing their crown to their fierce rivals for the first time in many seasons.
But that also means that Neil Lennon will have to revamp the squad in the summer to make sure that they are back winning that title on a yearly basis, and that could mean selling Edouard.
Regarded very highly across Europe, Edouard has been linked with a move to Arsenal over the past few seasons as they will need to add a striker to the attack, and Walker believes the club should be already planning for next season, and a “new chapter” that may not see Edouard as part of the rebuilding job that is required at Celtic Park.
Walker recently told the Scottish Football Podcast: “Odsonne Edouard realises that he’s got ability and is worth a lot of money. How much? I’m not sure, as he’s not been firing on all cylinders.
“Let’s say they paid £9m for him but any player who switches off – I think that’s alarming for any potential suitor. I know that it’s your job as the manager and the coaching staff to keep players on board but Edouard, Ntcham and a few others didn’t get the moves that they were expecting last summer.
“Neil Lennon highlighted as much after the defeat to Ferencvaros. He wanted players to just leave, but that was just one of the problems that Celtic had at the start of the season. Edouard didn’t appear totally committed, and I think now he realises it’s not so long until the summer transfer window.
“He’ll get his move now, so how much money will Celtic get for him? It all depends on how much they’re willing to accept, but if they got anything around £15m now I think you’re absolutely doing business.”
Andy Townsend has opened up and claimed that Arsenal sensation Emile-Smith Rowe is Paul Scholes in the making.
Smith-Rowe has made a real impact on the Arsenal side this season and has firmly established himself as one of the most creative players at the Emirates right now.
He is a player that Mikel Arteta rates very highly and a player that already has four assists in just ten Premier League games to his name already, and Townsend has now claimed that he is similar to Scholes.
He says the Englishman is even a better player compared to new signing Martin Odegaard and hailed him for his ability to play as a 10 as well as on the side of the midfield:
“When I look at Smith Rowe, they have a better one (than Martin Odegaard) there already,” Townsend told Optus Sport.
“That young man is so good, he has got great awareness… he is Paul Scholes in the making.
“He can play as a 10, he showed today he can play off one side and come inside, he has got that fantastic ability, awareness, of what is going on around him – not all young players have that.”
Smith-Rowe has the ability to go on and become a very good player for Arsenal in the coming seasons, so if he can get close to the quality that Scholes had, he will score alot of goals for the club.
But he needs to keep his head down, dont let all the hype around his talents go to his head and needs to carry on working hard, he has a long future in the game and needs to develop in the next couple of seasons to reach the clear potential that he has.
