Solskjaer told to think about signing £80 million rated midfielder for Manchester United, but will Red Devils sign Chelsea target?
Tony Cascarino thinks long time Chelsea target Declan Rice is a player that Manchester United should think of signing, but will they make a move?
The Hammers held on to their best all-rounder in the transfer window despite growing interest from Chelsea, with constant reports suggesting that he was the one player that Frank Lampard really wanted to sign in the transfer window.
That speculation has not gone away and there is a massive feeling that the likes of Chelsea will try to make a move in the next few transfer windows, especially if he continues to impress and put in the performances that are catching the eye.
However, with Manchester United in need of adding another midfielder to the squad in the coming transfer windows, Cascarino has opened up and suggested that United should look into the prospect of bringing Rice to Old Trafford.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Cascarino said: “Declan Rice was superb. He absolutely ran the show in midfield.
“He was up against Kalvin Phillips as well, who is a good player. I thought he just took the game by the scruff of the neck.
“He just stunk of a Manchester United signing to me. I was sat there thinking, ‘Wow!’”
Rice is certainly a player that would improve this United midfield and make them alot more defensively solid, but right now, it would be a shock to see him choose a move to United over Chelsea, it is just the way of the times.
United are one of the biggest clubs in the game, and have a great history, but are struggling, while there is alot of excitement about this very exciting Chelsea side.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up when he leaves the Hammers as he would be an ideal signing for United.
But the fact that he would cost £80 million to sign, is that a fee that United will not want to pay for the man?
