Arsenal want to sell Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira in order to raise funds to complete a transfer deal for Thomas Partey, it has been claimed.

Torreira completed a £26million move from Sampdoria to Arsenal last summer and the 23-year-old had a promising debut season in north London, making 50 appearances in all competitions.

But lasts season the 23-year old has struggled to kick on after his great first season and has only recently managed to force himself into the plans of Mikel Arteta.

Torreira has constantly showed his desire to leave the Arsenal, and that has started rumours once again that a number of clubs are interested in taking him away from the club this transfer window.

Now reports on the TalkSport website have claimed that The Gunners want at least £23 million this summer for Torreira and it’s believed Serie A side Torino are in pole position to land the 24-year-old.

Arsenal want the funds to go and complete a deal to bring Partey to the Emirates to add a bit more power to the midfield.

Partey is rated very highly over in la Liga, but despite the interest of Arsenal all summer, the Gunners have been unable to complete a transfer deal for the midfielder as Madrid will not let him leave this transfer window unless that £43 million clause is activated.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang putting pen to paper on a new contract will be Arsenal’s ‘best bit of business in years’, Clinton Morrison has said.

Aubameyang has been in the headlines alot this summer window as he has not officially signed a new contract to stay at the Arsenal, despite all the positive message that are coming out of Arsenal right now.

His goal record for the club since his move from Dortmund is phenomenal, having found the net 72 times in 111 appearances, and Morrison has opened up and claimed that his contract deal will be the best bit of business that Arsenal done in years.

“When Arsenal tie him down, it’s the best bit of business that Arsenal have done for many years,” Morrison said on Sky Sports News.

Morrison also likened Aubameyang to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

“Let me tell you something, see this goal, they used to call it ‘the Thierry Henry’,” he added.

“I’m not calling it ‘the Thierry Henry’ anymore, I’m calling it ‘the Aubameyang’ because I saw him do it in the Community Shield against Liverpool.

“When Arsenal tie him down, it’s the best bit of business that Arsenal have done for many years,” Morrison said on Sky Sports News.

“This is a fantastic finish. He had Kieran Tierney on his outside, he could have rolled in [Ainsley] Maitland-Niles, he said: ‘Nah, I want a piece of this action this afternoon’ and it is a fantastic finish.

“Willian picks him out, his touch, you don’t know which way to show him because as you saw in the cup final, [Kurt] Zouma, can he show him inside?

“No, because he can go back outside on his left foot and he can finish [with his] left foot. He’s a superb individual.”

Arsenal have reportedly bid £22.5million bid for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, according to reports in the media.

With 5 goals recorded for the Scottish Champions already this season, Edouard’s exploits for Celtic have attracted plenty of suitors from the Premier League, with Arsenal just one of a number of clubs that are reportedly interested in a deal.

The transfer speculation surrounding the striker means that Celtic have found themselves in a similar position on plenty of occasions in the past, with Moussa Dembele landing a move to Lyon in 2018.

The Gunners have already wrapped up deals for Willian from Chelsea and Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille in the transfer window so far but Arteta wants to add a new striker as speculation mounts over Alexandre Lacazette’s future in north London.

Now, Ian McGarry has opened up and claimed that Arsenal have now made an offer of £22.5 million for Edouard, who is valued at around the £40 million mark by the Scottish Champions.

Ian McGarry told the Transfer Window Podcast: “It’s our information that there is an interest from Arsenal in Odsonne Edouard, the France [youth] international striker currently at Celtic.

“It’s our information that the initial offer from Arsenal was £15m, which was rejected by Celtic.

“That offer has since been increased to £20m with add-ons up to the value of another £2.5m.”

Clint Morrison thinks Arsenal’s summer purchase of Willian from Chelsea will prove to be a brilliant bit of business

After months, and months, and months, AND MONTHS, of transfer speculation regarding the future of Willian, the Brazilian decided that staying in London was the best option for him to make and he agreed a three-year deal with the Arsenal.

It has been seen as a great bit of business by the Arsenal board as he is one of the best attackers in the Premier League, and Morrison has opened up and agreed that it will end up being good business by the club.

“I’m not surprised he went to Arsenal as they offered him the three-year deal that he wanted and Chelsea were not going to do it at his age,” the former Crystal Palace striker told Super Sunday Matchday.

“But he is a terrific player, he was excellent for Chelsea last season – Chelsea have gone down a younger route and signed some younger players – but I think it will be good business getting Willian for Arsenal.

“With the youngsters they have got there, he will help the likes of Pepe and Nketiah, it adds to the quality of Aubameyang and Lacazette. “It is a hell of a signing and three assists… so credit to him and talk about hitting the ground running at a new club.”

Alexandre Lacazette has shot down links with Lyon by declaring his intent to stay at Arsenal.

The French forward, 28, has just over two years left on his current contract at the Emirates having joined in a £52million deal from Lyon in 2017, but it’s believed he will be allowed to leave the Gunners should the right offer arrive.

And over the last few days, there has been big interest from Seria A Champions Juventus, who are seeking to overhaul the squad and are very interested in tempting the striker away from the Gunners this season.

And there has also been interest from Lyon, according to reports, with suggestions that Arsenal could offer the Frenchman to Lyon as a sweetener in their bid to sign up £54 million rated Houssem Aouar.

But Many Arsenal fans are desperate for the striker to stay, and now he has opened up and told the club that he is keen to stay at the club this summer window, The striker confirmed on Sky Sports: “I am really happy. It’s only the press that says I’m not happy. From the beginning I’ve said I am happy at Arsenal and I want to play and win titles.

“We won a title last month so I am happy with Arsenal.

“We have a lot of big ambition. We know Auba is going to score a lot of goals this season.

“I want to help the team to be on top, I know it’s my job. It’s not for me to [just] play and do the link-ups so I will try and do my best this season.”
