Chelsea deal on the cards? after £60 rated Brazilian Willian officially announces offer

Willian has told Chelsea fans that he has already rejected a move to Barcelona, as he is very happy at the club.

Willian has been at Chelsea for over six seasons now and has managed to rack up over 300 appearances for the club, becoming one of only a handful of players that are now considered to be world class at Chelsea, but there has been a lot of speculation in the media about his long-term future.

Despite being an integral part of the Lampard side this season, Willian is no closer to agreeing a new deal than he was 12 months ago and all indications suggest that Chelsea will allow him to leave at the end of the season if an agreement cannot be reached.

And that has led to a lot of transfer speculation in the media that the likes of Barcelona are ready to reignite their interest in the Brazilian, as Willian was the subject of interest from La Liga champions Barca after the 2018 World Cup

‘The only real official offer I had came from Barcelona, last year, after the World Cup,’ Willian told DAZN series Saudade. ‘Barcelona indeed presented an offer to Chelsea but it was rejected

‘That was the only actual time I had to discuss something like this with my family, although we really love it here [in London]. So there were several factors that helped us in staying.’

He continued: ‘If I have to return to Brazil, I’d like to play at Corinthians again. ‘It represents a lot, I was born and raised there, my footballing career began there when I was nine, I’ve spent my entire childhood there.

‘I’ve been a Corinthians fan since I was little, even before I played there, my family also supports the club.

‘So when I got there all my relatives were very happy, and then, after I got to the first team, everyone was overjoyed.’

Look Willian may well be in his thirties but he is still playing at a very high standard and if Chelsea do decide to not hand him a contract that he fully deserves and do decide to let him leave for free at the end of the season, they will be making a huge mistake.

He needs a new deal and Chelsea need to get one wrap up sooner rather than later.
