Super-agent Joorabchian confirms Chelsea talks as Arsenal target Willian ‘wants to finish career at highest level’
The agent of Arsenal target and Chelsea star Willian has admitted that the Brazilian wants to finish his career at the highest level.
Chelsea surprised many in the media over the past few months by completing an early deal to bring Hakim Ziyech to the premier League next season for a small fee of £37 million, with many believing that he is the immediate replacement for the ageing Willian, who has been linked with a move away from the club.
There has been talk that he could be leaving at the end of the season as reports in the media have suggested that Chelsea may not be willing to offer him a new contract because of his age, and are willing to let him leave the club on a free transfer, with the likes of Juventus and Barcelona eyeing up a possible deal
Arsenal have also been linked with a shock move to try and acquire the services of the Brazilian star, especially as they know that they could actually get the star for nothing when the transfer window opens up.
Now, amid all the transfer speculation, his agent Kia Joorabchian also revealed Willian remains in contract talks with Chelsea, despite rumours over a possible exit, and that the club are keen to sign him for two years but the player wants three years.
“Before the pandemic occurred, the negotiations were around two and three years,” he told SKY SPORTS
“Chelsea have a policy which we respect and understand but Willian has a career and he has ambition.
“He wants to finish his playing career at a very high level.”
Look, There are many at Chelsea that do not want to see Willian leave, Frank Lampard wants him to stay and he seemingly wants to stay at the Bridge, so he needs to accept this two-year deal and sign another one in two-years time, or he needs to find another club, this has been going on for far too long now guys.
However, it will be interesting to see just how all this plays out.
