Blues fans in shock as Chelsea make transfer decision regarding brilliant £60 million Brazilian Willian

There has been some shock reports emerge which have claimed that Chelsea are not willing to offer Brazilian midfielder Willian a new contract to stay at the club.

Willian was in the headlines for all the wrong reasons during the summer transfer window, as all indications suggested that he was ready to leave the club and test himself over in La Liga with Barcelona, who were reportedly ready to spend close to £50 million trying to secure the midfielders services.

However, a combination of Chelsea’s transfer ban and the fact that Frank Lampard di not want to let one of his best, and biggest, players leave the club meant that Willian was kept hold of, with hope that he would be offered a new contract with the club.

Willian has even come out and admitted that he is open to agreeing a new contract at Chelsea as he wants to stay, is very happy, and wants to help Chelsea once again get back to the very top of the game challenging for all the biggest trophies.

However, in a move that will surely shock many Blues fans, Calciomercato say the Blues are willing to let the 31-year-old go when his current deal expires in June 2020, meaning the likes of Barcelona and Juventus could snap him up for nothing at the end of the season.

Chelsea are looking to the future and have a big problem with handing players over the age of 30 the kind of deal that many would like, meaning that some big players have gone on to other clubs in search of a more long-term contract.

Willian is one of the best players at Chelsea and still has a good few years at the very top of the game, and considering he adds that experience at the top level to this Chelsea side, it would be strange for Chelsea to let him leave, especially for nothing.

Look, at the end of the day nothing is for certain and if Chelsea have decided to let him leave at the end of the season, well he has time between then to show the club just why he deserves a nice big new contract.
