Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –

Contract talks with Reiss Nelson are “advancing. as he is reportedly closing in on signing that four year contract offer.

He has scored some vital goals this season that kept Arsenal in the chase to win that Premier League title – but his contract expires at the end of the season.

But he has made it clear that he wants to stay at the Emirates – and The Gunners have opened negotiations, and there is a growing belief that an agreement can be reached soon.

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims the Gunners have tabled an offer for four years with the option of a further season if needed.

Journalist Charles Watts has revealed that Nelson has always indicated that he wanted to stay at the Emirates – he told his YouTube channel Channel: “Whenever we’ve spoken to Reiss, certainly after games down in the mixed zone, he’s always absolutely made it clear he wants to stay at Arsenal.

“But now I suppose you’d want to stay, but you’d want to stay on decent terms and if Arsenal aren’t offering you terms to sort of convince you to stay, especially when you know you’re going to be a bit part player, then you’re not definitely going to say yes.

“There’s going to be plenty of interest in Reiss. I think he’s done really well for himself this season, he’s always making an impact now when he comes off the bench.

“Brighton are believed to be heavily interested in Reiss Nelson and Brighton are a very attractive club right now.

‘There’ll be others as well potentially from abroad – we know he did well when he went to Germany and had that loan spell before he came back to Arsenal.

“So some big decisions for Riess to make. He’s the one who’s got the power now.”

Nelson wants to stay at ARSENAL – he wants to be part of the future at the club – but if he is happy to be a bench warmer and then come on when needed – then staying put is the right decision.

RICE DECISION –

ARSENAL have made a huge breakthrough in their transfer chase of West Ham superstar Declan Rice.

Rice is one of the most sought-after young midfielders in world football and his next move is a subject of much speculation, with a number of top clubs very much interested in a deal for the player.

Rice’s current deal with the Irons runs until the summer of 2024 and the club have the option of another 12 months. But the summer window offers West Ham the last realistic chance of securing a mammoth fee – of £100million-plus – for their prize asset –

West Ham fans have come to accept that Rice will be sold this summer – anod now it seems that Arsenal are closing in on a possible deal for the Englan International.

The Mirror claim Rice is ready to make it clear he favours a move to the Emirates, which is a major boost for the Gunners.

The North Londoners who have been working hardest, with manager Mikel Arteta devising a plan to rebuild his midfield this summer around the England international.

And the midfielder appears keen to join Arteta’s project at ARSENAL in the summer.

Former West Ham boss Harry Redknapp believes West Ham are plenty big enough for Rice and has warned the midfielder that the grass is not always greener elsewhere.

“I think he’s still young,” Redknapp recently told The Evening Standard.

“I’d like to see him have a couple more years at West Ham. It’s a great stadium with 60,000 people every week.

“He’s early mega money. Where do you go?…

“He’s probably happy there. He’s a big fish at West Ham. The fans love him.

“Does he need a move at this particular time?”

However – clubs have been told that Rice will be leaving WEST HAM – and his desire to win trophies needs to be respected – Tony Cottee recently told SunSport:

“It is different with the likes of Declan or myself. The reason I left the club, and I didn’t want to but I felt I had to because I wanted to go and win something.

“When you don’t win things, it is hard, and the money side is not easy either. If West Ham had a successful team that was winning things, Declan wouldn’t be leaving. There would be no reason to leave.

“He will leave this summer. I said all along that the moment they lost to [Eintracht] Frankfurt in the Europa League semi-final last season was the moment Declan knew he needed to leave. If they had won that and won the Europa League and got into the Champions League, why would he leave?

“Now we are at the stage where Rice is in the prime of his career and wants to play Champions League football. As long as his exit is handled correctly, and I think it will be because he is a really good lad leading in the right way, I don’t think any West Ham fan would begrudge him”

RABIOT ON THE MOVE –

Transfer guru Rudy Galetti has reported that Juventus midfielder and ARSENAL target Adrien Rabiot will leave for free this summer.

The Frenchman has really struggled for game time this season at Juventus, and he wants more guaranteed football at this stage of his career as he is not getting any younger

Despite being one of the most gifted central midfielders in the game – Rabiot has never really adapted to Italian football like many had hoped – and Juventus are also keen to make sure that they get his massive £7M a season wage off the books.

He is out of contract at the end of the season – and with Arsenal looking to add some more quality to the side – Rabiot is a player that is reportedly on the agenda, especially as he would be coming on a free deal

Now – Galetti has revealed that Rabiot will be leaving Juventus on a free at the end of the season.

Manchester United are also interested in a potential deal.

Speaking to DAZN BET, former Champions League winner Florent Malouda recently claimed that he believed his fellow Frenchman is better suited to the Gunners as opposed to United.

He said: “Adrien Rabiot would make a good signing. He’s match fit and he’s playing a lot. But I think he’d be better suited to Arsenal than Man Utd. Although he would be a great signing for anyone with his abilities, he can play in many different positions.

“But it’s important that he has a connection with the coach, that he’s being used well. He’s very talented. You can see for France, he’s doing a lot of work, a lot of dirty work to compensate for the attacking players and he helps to balance any team. He’s a talented player.”

And if you believe the words of reporter Iomie Stanley – he would now be open to a move to the Emirates because of Mikel Arteta – he told icfootballnews:

‘Rabiot is a brilliantly gifted midfielder that just hasn’t adapted to Italian football – his career has not gone how many people had hoped

‘A few seasons ago he would have not even thought about joining ARSENAL because they were not competing for trophies or playing Champions League football.

‘But while they still have some time before they get that – the future i bright under Arteta.

‘This Gunners side is very young and has alot of potential – so that is something that could tempt Rabiot – who is keen to reignite his career.’
