Winger decides to join United – Man United can sign Spaniard for ‘right price’ – striker message sent to Ten Hag
Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news and gossip that we think you guys could have missed today –
Juventus star Federico Chiesa has seemingly made a decision about joining Manchester United over Chelsea this summer after the Blues opened talks.
Chiesa is a transfer target for Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United – As the winger is “very ambitious” about a move to the Prem and believes top-flight English football will enrich his career.
The Euro 2020 winner is now seemingly on the market after Thiago Motta took over as Juventus boss, as GiveMeSport state he is a player that the Italians are ready to cash in on this summer window.
Recent reports have claimed that Chelsea have been in talks with the winger about a possible move to Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window – but it seems that his mid has been made up about a move to London.
Chiesa is seemingly holding out for a move to Manchester United. That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who add that the 26-year-old feels he could boost his profile by moving to Old Trafford.
IcFootballnews Opinion –
Chiesa is proven at the highest level of the game, has the ability to play in a number of positions, is a man that is made for the big games, and if he wants to come to the Premier League, Manchester United could be the ideal move to make.
If the reports are true and he would prefer a move to Manchester United – it would make more sense as the Red Devils have more space in the side for a player like him – and he wouldnt have to compete much to get regular first team football.
But there is plenty of time to see where he ends up if he leaves Juventus
OLMO MESSAG SENT –
RB Leipzig CEO Johann Plenge has issued an update on the future of Manchester United target Dani Olmo.
Over the past month or so there has been alot of speculation surrounding the future of Dani Olmo after his impressive performances at the Euros 2024 for Spain – in which he netted three times for the Spaniards.
Some of the games biggest and best clubs have all reportedly shown an interest in trying to get a transfer deal done for the Spaniard – who has a £58 million release clause in his current contract.
Now – amid all the speculation and rumours – Plenge has come out and told the likes of Man United that they do not need to sell Olmo this transfer window and will only sell if the price is right – He told Kicker: “Dani is highly regarded and is our player – and that will still be the case when we start training again after the trip to the USA and nothing happens until then.
“He played a very strong European Championship, so it was clear that other top clubs were knocking on the door.
“Transfers are part of the business and are a source of income.
“But they are also just one of many. One thing is clear: we will not sell any player for less than he is worth.
“We are not under pressure to sell. We plan commercially and also with transfer income, but if we don’t generate any, for example, because an offer does not meet our expectations, we will have to generate other income.”
IcFootballnews View…
Look, there has been alot of speculation on the future of Olmo, there is alot of clubs interested in the player, but if Manchester United managed to get the player he would be a brilliant addition to the side.
So United should pay whatever it takes to get the player all signed up.
RASHFORD MESSAGE SENT –
Former Manchester hitman Dwight Yorke has urged his old side NOT to sell Marcus Rashford this summer.
Rashford has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season and looks nothing like the player that netted 30 goals for MAN UNITED just a few seasons ago.
He has really struggled this season under boss Erik Ten Hag and has only managed to score 8 goals in all competitions for Manchester United, which is not good enough for a player of his ability.
Speculation about him leaving the club this summer has wavered in recent weeks – but there has been more talk that the England striker could once again be sold at some point this transfer window.
Now – Yorke has opened up and told the club that they should not sell Rashford this summer – The former United hitman was quoted on the SUN: “Should Manchester United sell Marcus Rashford?
“I wouldn’t sell my best player, personally. Rashford on his day is better than any other player at Manchester United, even Bruno Fernandes.
” Rashford is exciting, he kills teams, Manchester United need to build around him and get the best out of him.
“Erik ten Hag needs to make Rashford feel special, and then we can talk about Man United getting back to the top.”
Erik ten Hag is convinced Marcus Rashford will return to his 30-goal form of two seasons ago, and the Manchester United manager is equally sure new coach Ruud van Nistelrooy can show him how.
Ten Hag said: “That is the reason why he is here. But not only for the strikers, he is much more than this but Rashford can only improve himself.
“He is capable, he scores so many goals and at a relative young age, so many goals, so he is capable of it.
“I am confident and have 100 per cent belief he can do the same as two years ago.”
