‘WINNER’ heading for Arsenal and £250k-a-week: medical after £70 million terms agreed!
Arsenal have reportedly moved a step closer to completing the sensational signing of Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, with fresh reports claiming the Brazilian is waiting for the green light to undergo a medical after terms were allegedly agreed between the two clubs.
The latest rumours suggest negotiations between Arsenal and Newcastle have reached an advanced stage, although neither club has confirmed that an agreement has been finalised. Reports indicate Guimaraes is now awaiting permission to complete the next stage of the proposed transfer, fuelling speculation that one of the biggest deals of the summer could be edging closer.
Guimaraes has established himself as one of the Premier League’s standout midfielders since arriving at Newcastle from Lyon. The Brazil international has played a pivotal role in the Magpies’ rise under Eddie Howe, earning widespread praise for his composure in possession, defensive work rate and ability to influence games in both penalty areas.
His performances have attracted interest from several of Europe’s biggest clubs, but ARSENAL are now being heavily linked with the midfielder as Mikel Arteta continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.
The Gunners have made no secret of their ambition to compete for the Premier League title and the UEFA Champions League, and adding a player of Guimaraes’ calibre would represent another major statement in the transfer market.
Arteta is believed to admire the 27-year-old’s leadership qualities, technical ability and versatility, viewing him as a midfielder capable of elevating Arsenal’s already impressive engine room.
Should the transfer materialise, Guimaraes would join an ARSENAL midfield that already boasts the likes of Declan Rice, Martin Ødegaard and Martin Zubimendi, giving Arteta an abundance of quality and depth for what promises to be another demanding season.
Despite the growing speculation, there has been no official confirmation that a medical has been scheduled or that a transfer is imminent. Newcastle have consistently maintained that Guimaraes remains a key player, while Arsenal have not publicly commented on the reports linking them with the Brazilian.
Transfer speculation often intensifies during the closing stages of the window, and claims that personal terms and club-to-club agreements have been reached should be treated with caution until officially confirmed.
