World class star agrees terms to JOIN Chelsea – Blues table £112M offer – Poch pushing to sign £85M man
Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you may have missed today –
CHELSEA are expected to ‘push very hard’ for Moises Caicedo after Mauricio Pochettino told the board he wants the midfielder signed up
There are rumours in the media which has suggested that Caicedo is a man that is on the agenda of Mauricio Pochettino after a stunning season for Brighton this campaign.
Caicedo went public with his desire to leave Brighton side in the January window and after a brief exile from Roberto de Zerbi’s side, returned to play a key role in the second-half of the season with Brighton securing European qualification this term.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Ecuadorian was held back from moving in January on the basis that his good performances could still earn him a move at the end of the campaign.
Arsenal and Chelsea are said to be the frontrunners for his signature – but Pochettino has identified the Brighton & Hove Albion star as a ‘high priority’ signing at Stamford Bridge, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has told GIVEMESPORT.
Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “We know that they tried for Ugarte before pulling out. Caicedo will be a high priority, as he was in January, and Chelsea bid £55million back then.
“I expect Chelsea to enter the race for Moises Caicedo and push very hard on that front because he has been a long-standing target.
“He is exactly what Chelsea need – a number six with strong defensive qualities and, on top of that, the ability to get box-to-box. But they will want one more, for sure.”
The transfer window is not even officially open yet and Chelsea are linked with everybody.
Caicedo will leave Brighton this summer as he is ready for that next step – but to move to CHELSEA may be a mistake as they already have a number of midfielders in the side that are better than the lad.
Chelsea table Valverde offer –
CHELSEA have tabled a £112m package for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde it has been claimed in the media.
Mauricio Pochettino is a man that knows he needs to sign players that will improve the squad enough this summer that they will challenge for that Premier League title next season.
And according to recent reports on Defensa Central the newly-appointed Chelsea boss has convinced the club to offer up to make an , and they have made a monster £122 million offer
The combative Uruguayan would be a great fit for Pochettino’s revolution but Los Blancos have not even considered a sale this summer despite the arrival of Jude Bellingham.
Chelsea are said to be offering £95m upfront with around £17m in add-ons for the player.
Pochettino is not even at the club yet and there is all sorts of speculation in the media about what players he desires.
We would be shocked to see Velverde make the move to the Premier League – he is happy at Madrid – has shown no desire to leave the Bernabeu – this is a transfer that CHELSEA need to forget about
Chelsea will be making alot of transfer moves over the next few months in order to revamp the squad enough to make them challengers for that Premier League title.
But there is no point in chasing players that are never going to move – and Velverde was one of those players.
It should be a very exciting summer for the Blues fans – again – but Velverde is a player that will not be exciting in a Chelsea shirt for next season.
But it will be very interesting to see just who the club try to get – there are some massive names linked with a move to London and some that are for the future.
Onana agrees terms –
CHELSEA reportedly have an agreement in principle on personal terms with Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana,
Incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino is not even at the club yet but there has been alot of speculation in the media that the former Tottenham boss is keen to improve areas of the squad that are a concern.
The goalkeeper, midfield area and a new striker are on the agenda for the Argentine boss – and Onana is a man that has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the next few months
Onana supposedly has had a €40m (£35m/$44m) price tag put on him, with four years still left to run on his contract having only arrived in Milan last year
And according to a recent report on Inter Live, the Blues “really want” to bring in the Cameroon goalkeeper.
Onana, who is excellent with the ball at his feet and recently impressed on the way to the Champions League final, is reportedly a target for the Blues this summer, particularly as the out-of-favour Edouard Mendy has snubbed a contract extension at the club.
Now – according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb. Chelsea reportedly have an agreement in principle on personal terms over a move
However, the Serie A side are claimed to have rejected the Blues’ opening bid of £34million ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final, with negotiations set to resume next week.
CHELSEA are one of the biggest teams in world football and a side that needs to have the best players in the game – that stopper area is one that can be improved on.
It will be interesting to see if Onana does actually make a move to Stamford Bridge over the next few months because he has constantly been linked with a move to the Premier League
