Chelsea agree Morgan deal –

Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Southampton striker Jimmy-Jay Morgan, according to reports.

Morgan has impressed for England U17s, registering six goals across seven caps thus far. he has also registered four goals and five assists across eight Premier League 2 games and scored two goals in two FA Youth Cup matches.

Chelsea have been keeping a very close eye on the man for some time now and have decided to make their move on the Transfer deadline day – and quickly reached an agreement to bring him to the club at the end of the season.

Saints boss Nathan Jones, meanwhile, was quizzed about Morgan’s future last week after he snubbed a pro contract with the club.

‘Young players will always get opportunities at this football club,’ he said.

‘They have to earn that opportunity and keep doing well because there’s a pathway here for the younger ones to do well and we want to make sure we keep hold of ours.

‘None of them will be leaving the building because we believe that development isn’t a six-month process or a two-month process.

‘Development is getting to 35 and looking back and saying you made good decisions, and ‘they made good decisions for me’.

‘Jimmy is 17 years of age. He’s a fantastic player with a bright future if he picks the right choices and the people that are working with him handle him well and if we work him in training and develop him into the right level.’

Thiago Silva has admitted that he will be signing a new contract with Chelsea to prolong his stay at Stamford Bridge

After deciding to leave PSG just a couple of seasons ago – Thiago Silva made the big decision to pack his bags and come to the Premier League – in a move that would give him a real test at this stage of his career.

But despite all the media reports that he was too old for Chelsea – the Brazilian has proven that he just gets better with age and has been brilliant since his move to London.

The Blues wanted to tie him down to a contract to keep him in London for another year. The report states that both Silva and Chelsea are satisfied with the idea of a contract extension.

Now the Brazilian has come out and revealed that he will be signing a new contract at the club – On his contract talks, he said: ‘We are talking about it, everything will probably happen in the next few days.

‘My intention, and that of the club as well, is to stay together. I know that the club needs me right now.

‘I am here to be able to help, there are young players [who I can help].

‘I know that, with my experience, I can help in this process of rebuilding the club. I’m here for that and willing to do this. I know that my responsibility is very great.

‘I know we have a lot of work ahead of us, especially as we have lost one of our great leaders in the dressing room.

‘Jorginho is a guy who spoke a lot and this hole will remain, but we have to move on.

‘We didn’t expect him to leave, but it has happened. We have to make up for his absence in the best possible way.’

Thiago Silva really is one of the best central defenders in the game and has been brilliant for Chelsea ever since his move from PSG – He fully deserves that new contract.

He does not have many more years at the top of the game – but Chelsea are making sure they get the best out of Silva before letting him go to the MLS – Saudi Arabia or China for that final big pay day.
