Would Arsenal fans welcome £50 million signing after transfer message sent?
Caglar Soyuncu’s agent insists his client will resist interest from other clubs to remain at Leicester, amid interest from Arsenal. But would he be welcome?
We all know that Unai Emery was desperate to improve the back-line during the summer transfer window and was linked with some of the games very best central defenders, but he failed to get the backing from the board to land the players that he desired.
And in the end he was forced to make a move for WILLIAM SALIBA, who is not ready to make the move to London, KIERAN TIERNEY, and the very unimpressive DAVID LUIZ, who has actually made this Gunners back-line worse.
But despite the fact that Emery has been sacked by the Gunners, there has been some reports in the media which has claimed that a move for Soyuncu could be made by the Arsenal in January, as they need to seriously improve their defence in January.
Leicester City are ahead of Arsenal in the table and are being tipped to secure a place in the top four of the Premier League, and that is partly down to the fact that the Foxes defence has been so good this season, letting in the least amount of goals in the Premier League.
However, his agent Mustafa Dogru is adamant the 23-year-old will remain at the King Power Stadium.
“Caglar now focuses on the success of the team,” Dogru told Turkish radio station Radyospor. “A transfer is neither on his nor the club’s agenda.
“I don’t know what’s going on in the future, but he’s thinking about his achievements at Leicester City and with the national team.”
There squad is not at the standard it needs to be in order to get back challenging for titles and it just means players like Soyuncu, would prefer to stay put rather than sign for a massive club like Arsenal.
But Arsenal do need to spend big in the next couple of transfer windows and adding Soyuncu to their squad would certainly add to this Gunners back line and he would be a fantastic signing by the next boss.
