Wow – Mikel Arteta Refuses to Rule Out if £30M Star is Leaving Arsenal in summer

Mikel Arteta has refused to confirm whether or not David Raya will still be at Arsenal next season.

Raya is on course to win the Golden Glove award this season after the decision was mad eto bring him to the Emirates last summer, despite the fact that Aaron Ramsdale was still at the club.

The Gunners had been expected to make the 28-year-old’s move a permanent one at a cost of £30million, and there is a massive feeling that the Spaniard is desperate to wrap up his move to London sooner rather than later.

But speaking ahead of Saturday’s must-win game against Bournemouth, Arteta insisted a final decision has not yet been made on Raya’s long-term future.

He said: ‘Those conversations are for after the season, we will review where we are. Obviously we are really happy with David and everything he has brought to the club and the team. There is no question about that.

‘But all of those decisions have to be made between all of us at the club and we will see.’

Arsenal have a world class defence and that is why Raya is in line for that golden glove award – he has made far too many errors this season to be the clubs long-term number one stopper.

It is easy to see why the Gunners have not made the deal a permanent one – they already have an agreement in place – they just need to activate it and get it signed and sealed.

Arsenal fans will be very happy if he stays – but we would not be shocked to see him move back to his parent club in the summer and Mikel Arteta sanctions another stopper signing.
