Yorke frustrated Manchester United couldnt hijack deal for £54 million Man City star
Dwight Yorke insists Leroy Sane would have been the missing ingredient for Manchester United and is not disappointed that they missed out on the man.
It is no secret that United are big fans of Jadon Sancho and are reportedly desperate to try and bring him to Old Trafford in the summer window, although his massive price tag could scupper any potential deal.
However, it there were a few rumours in the media over the past few days that Manchester United were looking at a possible deal for Sane, as he was on the market after deciding to leave Manchester City.
The attacker was determined to leave City in the transfer window, meaning that Manchester United had a chance to wrap up a potential transfer deal, but in the end, the German winger opted for a move to the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.
Now, Yorke is frustrated United missed an opportunity to sign Sane:‘I think United were always going to try to bring in a big name as always,’ Yorke said on Sky Sports
That’s always been at the forefront of the club to make sure we try to stay ahead. I looked at our attacking players at the moment and it’s really exciting for me.
‘I like to balance my team a bit and if there’s one thing we are missing ideally in that team at the moment it is a really good left-footed player who can give you something.
‘I would have hijacked the boy Sane. I think he is a terrific player and would really send a message.
‘All that rivalry and next door stuff. He’s just something really out of the box.
‘I really like him, he’s direct, he’s got pace, he’s got power, he’s at the right age and the right ingredients.’
Sane is a really good player that would have been a real great player for United, but the deal has gone through and they have missed out on a top-player.
