Next stop Chelsea? £60m rated Premier League star Zaha ‘informs club’ he wants summer exit and Champions League football
Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha has informed his club that he wants to leave and play Champions League football, with Chelsea keen.
There is a lot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that Eden Hazard will be leaving the club in the next few weeks, with some media outlets even suggesting that Madrid will announce the £86 million deal after the Europa League final against Arsenal.
And despite the Blues transfer ban, which they are still appealing, there is a lot of speculation about whom could actually replace the Belgian goal-machine, who has netted an impressive 26-goals this season to help Chelsea claim third in the Premier League and reach two finals.
And one name that has been constantly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is that of Zaha, who is considered one of the most dangerous and creative wingers in the Premier League after reinventing his career after a dismal time of it at Manchester United.
Now the Metro website has claimed that Zaha has infirmed Palace of his desire to part this summer, and although they do not want to tell, they are prepared to sell the winger if the right offer arrives.
‘I’m too ambitious. And not ambitious just to play for a top club, but to win things at club level and with the Ivory Coast,’ Zaha told the Daily Mail last month.
‘I have to experience the Champions League. I just need the opportunity, that’s it. And I’ll do the rest.’
Zaha is one of the best wingers in the Premier League and landing him could be a smart move by Sarri, especially since the winger has already proven himself in the English game.
Palace will not want to sell and Chelsea will have to offer something special to complete this season, but a fee of around £60 million would surely push Palace into doing a summer deal.
Losing Hazard will be a massive blow for Chelsea, but the right signings over the next few months could mean that the Blues are a more complete team next season, and not just reliant on the Belgian’s goals.
But Zaha would be a great signing, just not the player to replace.
