Zanetti has update about possible £100m Chelsea deal, Midfielder wants Mount link-up, Man United star to sign with Chelsea? Hoddle sends Chelsea order
Zanetti has update about Martinez deal, Rice wants to link up with Mount, Hoddle makes Chelsea demand, Ighalo to Stamford Bridge?
Javier Janetti has issued an update on the future of Lautaro Martinez, with Chelsea keen on a transfer deal.
Despite the Coronavirus putting a hold to the Premier League season and despite the fact that the transfer window is still months away, there has been alot of speculation in the media about possible arrivals to Stamford Bridge, with a striker on the agenda.
It is no secret that Frank Lampard is keen to improve this side with some big time signings, and reports in the media have suggested he will indeed get the £200 million it will take to sign some top-class, big-time names players in the summer, with a striker on the list
Olivier Giroud is seemingly destined to pack his bags and leave the club at the end of the season having failed to agree a move away in the January window, while Mitchy batshuayi is more of a thirds-choice striker that is only needed when the other two are injured or need to rest.
Martinez has been in a rich vein of form this season, scoring 16 goals in all competitions and drawing interest from top European clubs, with reports Barcelona have identified Martinez and Neymar as their top priority summer signings, but with over three years remaining on the 22-year-old’s current deal at Inter, the Serie A outfit can demand an astronomical fee for his services.
Now amid speculation that Chelsea are also keen, Zanetti was asked if the striker will stay in Italy next season, Zanetti told ESPN: ‘At Inter I see him happy, he identifies with the club. ‘We believed in him. I see his future at Inter.
Declan Rice has got Chelsea fans excited by admitting he would love to partner up with childhood friend Mason Mount at club level.
The whole world may be gripped by the crazy outbreak of the coronavirus, and football may have been stopped because of the Virus itself, but there has still been alot of transfer speculation in the media about possible summer signings at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard is not fool, he knows that he needs to seriously improve this side over the next few transfer windows in order to get the club from top four chasers, to Premier League contenders, and he needs to add some fresh meat to the side.
Now recent claims Lampard is on the hunt for a defensive midfielder this summer and has identified Rice as the ideal man to come in and possibly take over from Ngolo Kante in the long-run, who is arguably the best holding midfielder in the game.
Rice spent eight years coming up through the Blues’ academy and remains best pals with Mason Mount, But he was released in 2014 and ended up with rivals West Ham, where he has developed into one of the brightest talents in the Premier League.
His performances for the Hammers has meant that he is not an England regular, and is being chased by the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, who are also in the hunt for a holding midfielder in the summer.
Now fans have got excited after Rice opened up and admitted that he is keen to work with Mount at club level again, He told Copa90: “Yeah I’d love to, I’d love to play with him at club level again.
“One thing we’ve always said as kid we’d love to play with each other at club and international level
“But obviously you never know because of different paths and things like that.”
Odion Ighalo is unlikely to be offered a permanent stay at Manchester United but could be offered a deal by Chelsea, his agent has claimed.
Ighalo arrived at Old Trafford during the January window and has started life under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in superb fashion, but the Coronavirus has stopped his performance levels and with no date on when or if the football returns, focus now turns onto his long-term future.
There are reports suggesting that he is wanted back by his parent club, who have offered a massive £400,000-a-week, and there are reports that United are keen to keep him on a more permanent basis, but now it seems that Chelsea are in the mix about a possible deal.
Former Nigeria international and current football agent Abdul Sule has urged the striker to reject a new bumper contract from Shanghai Shenhua and wait to see what interest materialises in Europe, He told Goal: “I see Odion Ighalo earning a big-money move from top European teams when his loan expires at Manchester United.
“I don’t think Man United are keen on retaining him because they seem not to value him enough to put hand him a regular place. He also may not be wanted again when Marcus Rashford is fit.
“I will not advise him to return to China now despite the attractive offer but would urge him to stay in Europe. I won’t be surprised if Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid or Barcelona come for him.
“He has proven that he’s got a lot to offer at the highest level within his short stay at Man United and he can attract big brands and earn more money, playing in any of the top teams in England.
“He can always still return to China later in his career but right now, I think he has what it takes to shine in Europe.”
Frank Lampard must be backed in the transfer market by owner Roman Abramovich if Chelsea are to be turned back into Premier League title challengers, according to the club’s former player and manager Glenn Hoddle.
Lampard has managed to do a wonderful job at Stamford Bridge since he took over last summer, that is despite the fact that he has not signed any big players in the transfer windows that he has been involved in.
But as he needs to improve the side in key areas of the pitch in the summer window, there has been alot of speculation linking the club with some big moves, and Hoddle believes the current boss must be given the time and space afforded to Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, having taken Chelsea to fourth in the table before the football shutdown.
Writing in a new book, ‘The Boss — Chelsea managers from Ted Drake to Frank Lampard’, serialised in The Sun, Hoddle says Lampard needs backing to go to the next step, he was quoted on Sky Sports: “When you look at the squad you have to wonder what is going on above him in terms of recruitment. For me, Frank needs a clear transfer policy to take his team forward.
“He has been getting it right on the training pitch, on the football side, but the next big phase for him will be how the club operate in the transfer market.
“If Frank gets the players he wants, not the players someone else wants, he has an excellent chance, in two or three years’ time, of having the right squad and the right team to challenge for the Premier League title.
“Chelsea have to treat Frank exactly the way Liverpool treated Jurgen Klopp, give him the time to rebuild, give him the players he wants.”
If Chelsea are to get back inside the top four then Lampard needs to be backed, and he needs to sign the players THAT HE WANTS!!
