Zidane announces ‘it’s very clear what ive done’ as Chelsea close in on £80 million superstar deal
Chelsea are again on full alert after Zinedine Zidane has cast further doubt on Gareth Bale’s future after he left the Welshman out of Real Madrid’s squad for their defeat at Real Sociedad.
The 29-year-old did not even make the bench for Sunday’s LaLiga encounter which ended in a shock defeat, as the Welsh wizard looks all set to leave the Spanish side at the end of the season.
Bale has been heavily criticised for not stepping up an filling the boost of Cristiano Ronaldo this season, and that has led to a lot of transfer speculation that he would be a transfer casualty at the end of the year.
Chelsea are very strong admirers of Bale and have tried on numerous occasions to try and bring him back to the premier League, but he had no desire to leave Madrid and opted to stay and fight for his career in La Liga.
Bale’s omission only increases speculation he will be heading for the exit this summer, and Zidane was in no mood to offer any assurances to the four-time Champions League winner.
It would appear unlikely that Bale will feature in the season finale against Real Betis, with Zidane saying it’s ‘very clear what he’s done’ and to ‘see what happens next year’
“It’s very clear what I’ve done this weekend. Next week we see what I do, and also what happens next year. That’s it!” Zidane said on Marca.
Premier League clubs will certainly be keeping a close eye on the latest.
Despite the fact Chelsea are currently facing a summer transfer ban, there is a lot of speculation about whom they will acquire to try and replace star Man Eden Hazard, who is all set to leave the club and make the move in the opposite direction to sign for Madrid.
Bale has not had the best of seasons at Madrid, but that could be said of many of the Madrid players, and although he is out-of-favour at Real, he is still one of the best players in world football.
He would help fill the goals problem Chelsea would have when Hazard leaves and would also provide some much needed width to the side. So for the right amount of money he could be an ideal replacement for Hazard.
But any deal depends on whether Chelsea get this transfer ban overturned.
